Nice run with Cindy.  Sheets of ice on the sidewalks be careful!  Rushed to get back for Aaron to make it to his meeting in time.

Pushed the girls in the chariot.  Ran the older kids to school, then Ali to preschool.  Felt a lot lighter once my 4yo got out!  Kelsie was screaming for the last couple miles.

Aaron is out of town so I ran the kids over to the Grooter's house and got a nice trail run in while they played with their favorite friends. The trails were quite sloggy and I came home with a couple extra pounds of mud stuck to my shoes and legs.

Didn't get my 35 mile goal this week.  Dang.  Shouldn't have wussed out on the snow day.

Ankles and achilles took a bit to warm up and needed a good long stretch afterwards.  Ran south Boulder creek path where the cows graze.  Saw a momma cow licking her calf's face and an old lady dodging cows on her elliptigo.

Nice and easy 5 around Shanahan Ridge.  I felt SUPER tired last night and slept 9 hours but still not that rested this morning.

My friend, Heather offered to watch K for us so Aaron and I could go running together.  Aaron biked Ali to school while I fed K and then we biked K over to Heather's and ran from there.  Warm up to Fairview track, strides.

4X200 39, 38, 38, 37

4X400 82, 78, 81, 80

Cool down back to Heather's.  Saw lots of familiar faces out running fast on the track including my former Coach, Darren.  He was surprised that I was doing such a short workout...well that's where I'm at!  In fact, this morning after my feet and calves were burning half way through my short workout I said to Aaron on the way home that racing in June is probably even too ambitious.  See, I am registered for the Little Red Riding Hood 70 mile distance with my sisters, and really ought to do some cycling sometime between now and June 1st. As for running, I may have to just shoot for the Pearl Street Mile in July.

Beautiful day out there today!  Heading over to the school in a bit to cheer for the kids in their fun run.

Forgot my Garmin so I don't know how far I went but my friend, Becky and I were cycling for nearly 3 hours.  Got what I was after: qauad burn and butt soreness.

11 years ago today I married my best friend, Aaron.  We've been through many amazing miracles and trials and each year my love and appreciation for him grows deeper. I am SO glad we're journeying through this life together.  What a ride!

We skipped Spring this year--went straight to 85 degree summer!  I ran at 8 am when it was still only 60 and I was super parched.  At least there is still snow in the mountains which we can hope will keep Colorado from burning up this summer.  Last year we had record drought which led to record forest fires and Boulder was in a haze of smoke half the summer.

Kelsie has had three days in a row now of sleeping from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. which is a nice schedule compared to her previous consistent 2 a.m. wakings.  Yay!  So this morning after feeding her I got in a 6 a.m. run.  Saw a blue jay teasing a squirrel in the same neighborhood where I saw them before.  I wonder if they are actually friends?

Met Cindy for a track workout

2X800 in 2:57, 2:46

4X400 in 79, 80, 77, 77

2X200 in 36

I am finally feeling some speed slowly awakening in my legs.  Not necessarily pep, but slow, steady "speed." Relative to the pokey slowness I've been experiencing as of late, anyway.

Cindy didn't feel too hot because that was her first track workout in a while but I actually felt a bit of a "breakthrough" today now that I have a few track workouts under my belt.

Saw the Japanese team clipping along up Bear Creek Path with their Coach riding his bike behind them.  Also saw some graffiti on the sidewalk that said "Stop buying GMOs" with a picture of a flower next to it.  Did I miss the memo? Is there a graffiti initiation requirement to be a part of the no-GMO movement?

Was stunned by the most incredible sight less than a hundred meters from me this morning.  An elk running at full speed (probably 20 mph) leaping fences like they were nothing.  He bolted through the soccer fields at East Boulder Rec Center and on through the open space.  If he was being hunted the hunter didn't stand a chance!

Also saw a unicyclist commuter wearing no helmet.  Hope he didn't crash. Unicycling looks like a killer workout.  No coasting or you tip and constant core activation to balance.

Last day of school for the kiddies!!

28 mile bike ride.  Okay, so I didn't "train" very well for the Little Red Riding hood ride I'm doing with my sisters, and now I probably won't get much riding in next week either because I'll be in Utah without Aaron's help.  Here's hoping I can do 70 miles next Saturday without too much problem.

Ran around Lay-Ton, UT.  Or is it Lay-N?  Not sure.  Anyway, it was nice.

Ha! I stole your pic Tara! Thanks for meeting me for a run, girls, it was swell. And my shoulder even stayed put when I biffed it. I'm SO glad because I would NOT have wanted Tara to go into EMT mode and man-handle me.

James, you can rest assured much of our conversation was likely super effective subconscious birth control for Allie.  Your welcome.  :)
