Wow, I didn't know you had an issue since this is the first time I looked at your blog all week.
I got a stress fracture in my foot 3 weeks before my focus marathon, a few years ago. Tons of aqua jogging and some bike helped maintain fitness, and I still ran great. You can do it, too. The thing I would have done different is try to run a little (like you seem to be doing) just to keep the quads ready for some pounding. Maybe a few downhill miles, if you can take it. Good luck!
