A good hard 14.5 mile run up at Alta Ski Area with Kramer, Cubby, Blake, and Jacob.

Heading to the Bees game now. Thanks Amiee!

You know, I was just thinking about how proud I am of my wife who works as a nurse in the Neuro Crirical Care Unit at University Hospital. The income she makes enables us to do many things we wouldn't otherwise be able to do on just my teachers salary. She also is a strong role model for Abby and Andy who are very proud of their mom the nurse. Most importantly, she saves people's lives which gives her a huge amount of satisfaction and is hard to put a price tag on.

AM: Two mile walk/jog around Sandy.

I'm very proud of my boys and how they raced today. Kramer eeked out another win over Conner Mantz. Neither of these guys ever wilts under pressure and their races are always nail biters. Not many states have two Foot Locker finalists ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. going head to head on a weekly basis.

My boys finished 6th out of 43 teams and are making huge strides.

Downhill Dash Day! Utah's best race.

Good day at the Alta Peruvian. Only a few seconds off my best time on this course. Quads are pounded as usual. More later

OK, so I feel like I need to write a race report that does this race justice.

Yesterday was the 20th Annual Alta Peruvian Downhill Dash and Bar-B-Q Bash. The Alta Peruvian Lodge is a special place for Ann and I. We began coming here for ski vacations back in the 90s before our kids were born. The lodge and Alta Ski Area are a big reason why we were drawn to Utah.Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of actually living here is that we no longer could justify staying at the Peruvian when we went skiing.

Then we discovered the Downhill Dash which liberally gives away overnight lodging vouchers for age group winners. A few words about John Cahill, the man who started this race. Most of this is based on what I've heard but I think it's fairly accurate. John is now 89 years old and I think he's the third fastest over 70 marathoner ever behind only Ed Whitlock and John Keston. He ran right around 3:01 or 3:02

distracted....
