I had some success in high school and college. Winner 1985 Rod Dixon Run 

Had a fair amount of success as a Masters runner for most of my 40s. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Have fun with running, explore more trails, stay healthy.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and racing consistently for as long as I can. Find what is sustainable for me over the long run.

Personal:

I teach AP European History and other courses at Alta High School. I coached the track and cross country teams at Alta for 16 years.

AM: 2 mile walk. Beautiful morning. I would have liked to have done more.

PM: 2.25 mile walk to the gym and back. Weight lifting and core at the halfway point.

22 endurance "superfoods" according to Matt Fitzgerald. In alphabetical order. 

almonds, bananas, beets, black beans, brown rice, cherries, coffee, corn, eggs, garlic, olive oil, peanut butter, potatoes, red wine, salmon, spinach, sweet potatoes, tea, teff (don't know what that is!), tomatoes, tuna, yogurt.

I love this list. Teff is a grain popular among African runners (and now American runners). I'd like to see quinoa on there.

I just listened to an interview with Matt talking about his first 50 miler and how it compares to road marathons. Fun to hear his perspective. He was sufficiently humbled by the race.

Occasionally I differ with him but there is no one out there besides Matt who writes consistently useful stuff for the serious endurance athlete.
