A former student/runner of mine, Joah Spearman has an excellent new start-up called Localeur. The main purpose of Localeur is to help travelers experience a city the same way a knowledgeable local would. If you are planning to travel to Austin, Houston, or the San Francisco Bay area, you should check it out.

So far it's only three cities but New York will be added soon and it's growing fast. If you check the site out you will see that it's much more focused than sites like yelp and trip advisor. If I had a few days to spend in one of these cities, I would find localeur to be a lot more helpful.

You can also follow localeur on twitter and Facebook.

I'm going to use Localeur to do all my planning for the '14 USATF 1/2 Champs in Houston next winter!

See you up at the race tomorrow. Should be fun. We're spending the weekend up there, so if the kids are coming, we could always go out to brunch and hang out for a while afterwards.

Thanks Rob. I will be in SF next week. I was a local for five years but there has been a lot of change since I left in 2010. I can vouch for some the suggestions here and I am excited to try some I don't know.

Localeur is legit. I have a buddy Tony Adam that started Eventup. I would love to hook these two up. The online marketing world is my space. This is a great site and is sure to explode and go huge. I bet Google, Yahoo, or Facebook buy this out in two years for sure...

Hey coach, I could come yesterday because my my asthma appointment set for Halloween had a spot open up last minute for yesterday at 8:30 so I took it. I got new medicine to help open up my lungs. I asked the guys what the workout was and so I did 4 miles or so and then I did 8 400s on the Brighton track averaging 68.9, I had my brother time me. I had 2:30 seconds between each 400 but I had a bigger rest after the 4th and before the 5th so I could go in the school and get water. And there was a storm starting up for the last 2 and so I took an extra minute before running the last one at 67, it was really windy on the last one though.
