Rough day yesterday. After my long run with Jake, Nate, and Josh up at Jeremy Ranch, I mostly spent the rest of the day sick in bed or in the bathroom.

Google "beet juice poisoning". I pretty much had all those symptoms. Still weak and depleted today.

So now the question is, what are you doing with all those beets?

From Jake K on Mon, Jun 02, 2014 at 09:26:23 from 199.190.170.24

When you said you drank a quart of beet juice before the run I laughed and sort of thought that was kind of silly, but I didn't expect you to actually get sick.

As Michele Ferrari said about the dangers of EPO - "It's also dangerous to drink 10 liters of orange juice"

Glad you finished the run ok. Were you juicing your own beets or was this the Biotta brand?

I thought you drank beet juice before a race or a long run once and felt magical? Maybe it was the night before? Josse recently had an entry about the issue. I'll stay away from it. I was nervous about a bowl of cereal and almond milk this morning, but it's darn perfect.

I think it was a volume problem. I've tried it and never had an issue. But I've never had more than 6 oz in an eight hour period.

Have you been hanging out at Schrutte Farm's with Dwight and Moze? When did you go to Scranton, PA?

Sounds miserable. My chiropractor recommended beet juice. Maybe not! Feel better.
