Running Accomplishments:

I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.

Personal:

I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.

9:29,9:56,10:16,10:17 with overall pace at 9:59 miles. Trying to do all miles slower this week but going down that first hill is hard to go slow.

Took it easy first 5. Ran 953, 1031, 1024, 1010, and 1019. Sped up next four at 922, 924, 926, and then 10 even. Last mile up hill was 1049. Was 30 degrees out when I ran.

Fitness center. Bike 20 minutes. Got heart rate up to 129. Did core workout. 40 times everything. Also did pull-ups knee us and stretching.
