| No running today, however walked and biked an insane amount on Block Island in RI- 8 hours straight with stops at the two lighthouses and once at the beach. We did manage to find some cool trails too- I've been here before, so it was nice to know where the interesting things were. It felt good to bike. This is really only the second time I've been on my bike since my accident about 11 months ago. It's still scary to get on one.

| AM: 12.5 miles back in Portland, Connecticut. I did my favorite trail system: Canfield Woods. This is the first time I have ever NOT fallen while running on these trails. Markedly impressive since I've run them about 20+ times.

| AM: 5 miles then the gym- arms, back, hams, quads. I felt the long break from the gym, but I am glad to be back.
PM: 4.5 miles to break the century mark. I felt quite good overall today despite the wonderful weather- gotta love 90 degrees, 80% humidity, and a UV index of 10/10.

| Early AM: Did my first workout in a long time. 400, 600, 1000 all at effort, then a full recovery, followed by a 2-mile @ 5:00/mile pace. Finished in 10:00 minutes exactly. Overall I didn't have to reach into the tank which was nice. 6 miles total with 3 fast.
Late AM: 8 more miles, very easy. Some gym work- squats, lunges, chest, lats.

| AM: Workout on the treadmill. I started almost immediately, which is never the brightest move. 5x100m sprints, 1x1 mile @ 5:00, 5x100m sprints, then 5x300 at increasing grade starting at 3% up to 7% at 5:00/mile pace. Followed that with a quiet 5k.
Then gym- arms, abs, glutes, then some squats.

| AM: 10+ miles with a workout on the track. I wasn't planning on having a serious workout (and instead just run with people and pace them), but Celia brought a high school kid, and well, it's always fun to see if I can outrun someone who should be faster than me. Was a cut-down: 1600, 1200, 800, 4x400 with 400 recoveries between the long items and 200 between the short items. I likely have set myself up for a bit of failure/disappointment this afternoon, but we'll see.
PM: 9+ miles at the track in the middle of the afternoon- 4:30pm in Florida- Beautiful! Had an excellent group of runners out today: John, Jeremy, Chris, Anthony, and myself. I haven't done intervals with a group this talented quite possibly ever. That being said, the best part was we stayed together for 4 of the 6 items and worked well together which was the best part. Workout was 6x800 with 400 jog recoveries. Nothing special for times, but that's okay, as it felt quite easy even after a tough morning. Splits: 2:44, 2:48, 2:46, 2:39, 2:36, 2:34. Jeremy, Chris, and I stayed grouped through them all which was fun. I hope we can keep a group like this going, but after a couple of years of doing intervals now, I know it's unlikely, so I'll savor the singular experience when it occurs.
