Recover From Injury

Running Accomplishments:

Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Three miles running, felt pretty good.  First day of may and it was a blizzard and very windy and cold. Crazy weather!!!

Three miles running, no snow just cold and sunny.  I think that one day we are going to wake up and it's just going to be plain hot and summer.

Three miles walking, didn't have time for much else.  I probably could have ran them, but I think one more day of recovery is what my hip was saying.  I'm going to try to get in three runs this week in addition to the walking.

Four miles total, 1.25 walking and 2.75 running.  Not much but better than nothing I guess.  Hip felt fine during the run, but a little tight now.  I hope that I can work up to running at least 4-5 times a week soon but I don't want to push it back any further.  This has been the most frustrating thing ever!!!

Three miles running, slowly but surely I think that the hip is getting better. I hope!

three... .3 miles this morning and it was really warm outside! I don't know how we go from running in a cold as Jan. blizzard on the first day of May and then June like temps now but I guess that's spring in Utah? My goal this week is to run every day this week and see how the hip holds out? It's a busy week with it being the last week of school here but I hope I can get it done and that my body will cooperate. I think that I could go farther but because I'm going for more days this week than I've been doing I don't think that I will push the mileage for now. I also plan on walking with a friend for 3 miles tonight but I won't count that in my total for mileage.

four mile walk in the hills above Lyman, some pretty good steep hills and incline so turned out to be a good workout for a walk.

Walked up in the hills again about 1.5 miles and then ran about 1.5 back home.

Three miles total.   Ran one and then walked to our water tower which is a pretty good climb and then ran home.

Two miles this afternoon, could have at least done one more but was limited on time.  Feeling a little tight in the hip tonight, seems whenever I do consecutive days it just starts to get tight and painful again.
