Tonight was a much better run then the past week has been. I'm blaming the last week on hormones... nuf said. I ran the parkway but decided to try to fast miles in the mix. 1 8:44 - still having trouble making my warm-up at slower miles. 2 8:37 - still just supposed to be taking it easy. 3 8:15 - This was my first mile picking up my pace. I was hoping for 8mm but it was a rolly uphill part of the route. Effort was hard 4 9:02 - slowing it down 5 8:33 - still easy, I have turned around and it's a rolly down hill now. 6 7:51 - picked up the pace... as you can see still mainly down hill. 7 8:33 - slow down .30 8:45 more slow down back to the car and almost getting hit as a huge truck pulls out of a parking lot. I let him know I thought he was number 1. I don't think he even saw me.

| | Nice easy miles tonight after a wonderful massage! Kept it at about a 9:20 pace for the miles. Today when I got to my desk at work there was a Runners World magazine on it. The name for the subscription had been blacked out, but I could still read it. It was the name of one of our Vice Presedents. He resides in Sweeden so I was surprised to see his name. Anyway someone in the mail room had inked out his name and wrote mine :) What a fun gift for some one to give me :) On other wonderful news my 19 year old son is going to school for auto body. He was been trying to get a job in the field but has not had much luck, until today!! He was so happy. It's great to see him do something that he seems to have quite a passion for. I'm hoping having this job will let him see if this is truely where he want to be.

| | I guess I can call this an almost easy 8. Hopefully in time they will be easier, but for now I'll take is as an pretty easy 8. I have not run the lower part of the parkway in a while so that was the plan. I circled the 21st street pond 4 times. As I rounded the pond you could look through the trees and see the mirror perfect reflection of the mountains. Just as I was getting done with my last lap I could see one other couple of people on the other side of the pond. Other then that I was all by myself. It was so pretty... perfect weather. Went back to the gym and did some core work. laps: 8:55, 8:55, 8:35, 8:33, 8:26, 8:27, 8:39, 8:27, (.13) 8:55

| | Nice run tonight... ran the upper parkway. As I was coming back from my turn around point I knew that there was a nice hill that I thought would be good for some hill sprints. So I don't know how and didn't plan for it so I didn't mess with my garmin... just ran them. So it turned out that there was a tree at the top of the hill and a tree at the bottom that were my marker. I would run as hard as I could to the top... turn and walk back to the other hill. I did this 5 times. I don't know if this is how you are supposed to do them or if they are doing my any good. But every time I got to the top my legs and lungs were burning... so I figure it's a pretty good thing. There is a running store along the parkway and I stop in there sometimes if I need a potty break. I figured out I just passed the 500 mile mark of my shoes, so I stopped in to see if they had my Asics because last time I was shoe shopping all the local store were complaining of running out of the shoes I love. Turns out they don't have them so I told the owner I would be back Saturday to try on others and see what will work. I'm very bummed. I know the owner and have run with him several times... really nice guy. Tonight when I was talking to him he looked different to me, I realized he had over groomed his eyebrows. Men should not have overly arched eyebrows, it makes them look to feminine and in some ways strange. Then when I got back to the gym to streach and do abes they had tables set up letting you try all these drinks and stuff. There was a man behind one of the tables that had the largest and weirdest muscles I have every seen in person. He looked like a cartoon... so weird. I thought to myself he was not a good choice for that company to promote what they were selling because I can't imagine anyone wanting to look like that. Oh well that is just my weird observations tonight. Nice run... a bit cooler they last night and a few more clouds. Had just the tiniest bit of sprinkles at one point in my run. 7.34 miles - 1:05:24 laps: 8:39, 8:26 (need to slow down my warm-up miles) 9:00, (should have been faster here) 8:41, 10:56 (LOL I'm pretty sure this was my hill sprints, the walking back really made my mile slow... either that or I realy stink at hill sprints) 8:39, 8:18 (wanted to speed up a bit at the end) (.34) 8:06

Snuck out lunch to get my run in, I hope this will give me a bit more time at home to get some things accomplished before the weekend. Nice run for about 95% of the run. As lucky as I am to be able to run on a beautiful parkway by the river at lunch, I still hate the gravel and railroad that I have to run on to get to it. It's only the first 1/2 mile and last 1/2 mile though so I'm not going to complain. But today that last bit was particularly difficult... I guess my legs were more tired then I thought. Kept it pretty slow and easy.
