Today is my Momma's birthday, she is 83! The sister's and I will be taking her to lunch today. She is also an identical twin.... My dad was a faternal twin :) I tried to do 2 miles easy/moderate, 2 miles moderate/hard, 2 miles easy moderate. I think I did pretty well, but I was hoping the 2 moderate/hard miles would have been a faster time. But it was all I had tonight. 6 miles - 55:20 laps: 9:42, 9:33, 8:56, 8:26, 9:23, 9:20

| | I was tired today.. I forgot my sports bra... then I had an operator error with my garmin :( So I'm not certain of my time and I estimated it was 5 miles... probably a lil bit more but any way I seemed to struggle through the run. I'm worried about the 1/2 that I will be running Saturday. I'm thinking I will just do a slow easy three or four tomorrow. Anyway at least I got it all done before the storm came.

| | I'm finally getting to post my time/miles. We went to dinner tonight, so as soon as I got home and cleaned up we went to dinner. Tonight was a good run, it felt better then last night. I could have run farther but with the race tomorrow I thought that I had better not. So I usually don't post any goals of what I want to accomplish at a race. But goals that are not wrote down are just wishes. So my goal for the race tomorrow is: 1) Beat the girl that is 30 seconds ahead of me in the cumulative totals. 2) Don't go above a 9:30mm pace for the race.... so there it is... posted for all to see, so it is not longer a wish, it's my goal. Wish me luck and pray for good weather, it's supposed to be snowing. 5 miles - 46:40 laps: 9:17, 9:23, 9:31, 9:12, 9:17

So I will update the post when they post the results... then I can see if I accomplished my #1 goal. This was a difficult race!! The first four miles was down the canyon, so it seemed warm even though there were a few snow flurries. In fact I took off my gloves and unzipped my jacket. But I was glad that I didn't dump them because as soon as you were out of the canyon and around the bend you got blasted with a cold head wind that would not give up.... AHHH I though I was running in place at some points. This on top of the rolling part was killing me. So goal #2 was to keep my pace below 9:30. Here are my laps: 8:40, 8:49, 9:00, 9:08, 9:00, 9:16, 9:12, 9:13, 9:47 (this is where the wheels were starting to wobble. My goal here was to not stop and walk) 9:30, (able to rally a bit) 9:51 (not for long) 9:36, 9:24, the last .1 8:04! So I didn't make goal #2, but I feel pretty good about it. My garmin read 2:01:03, that is about 4 minutes faster then Moab!! so that feels pretty good. When I get my results I'll let you know if goal #1 was accomplished... wish me luck! ** Family things... My oldest daughter's birthday is Sunday, she will be 28, I can't believe my baby girl is that old. I don't feel much older then that! I will get to take her shopping and have some fun with her :) Also my oldest son took the gmat test today... his past three pre tests were 720, 720 and 730... he was hoping for a 700. I think he did a fantastic job... he got a 690. He was a bit disapointed, but he will accept it for now.

| | Tonight was the first trail run in a while... I love running the trails above 22nd street!!! But man it made me tired tonight. And boy was I slow... I might be getting some of my fitness back, but running the trail tonight made me realize how much farther I need to get. Maybe it was too soon after the 1/2 marathon the try and do trails. There were tons of bikers, a few hikers and runners. One crazy guy trying to push a stroller on the trail, and one kamikaze biker that was yelling at me LOL. I ran into a friend that I have not seen in a while, it was great to talk with him for a bit. 7.72 miles - 1:26:47

| | So I think I left my brain on the pillow this morning when I got up... I knew that the forecast said it was be raining around 5pm, so I thought I could beat the rain... but I didn't take into consideration the drop in temp and the wind chill. I didn't pack the gym bag according to the conditions. :( So I ended up doing an hour on the eliptical at the gym... lots of stretching and sit-ups. Guess I will chalk it up to cross training right? Hopefully I will be better prepared tomorrow :) |

| | So the rain stopped in time for a nice run. I was a tad over dressed (thought it would be cooler then it was) had some tummy trouble at mile 2.5 - 3 and then again right before the end, but other then that I felt pretty good. Feet are hurting a bit after, don't know what that it. Hopefully it's nothing. 7 miles - 1:05:19 laps: 9:32, 9:25, 9:49, 9:27, 8:51, 9:14, 9:03

After lazing around the house I finally got myself to get my run in. It was a pretty good run. The first .25 were rather painful this morning, don't really know what that is about. Then again at about the 21/2 mile mark I had some tummy trouble, good thing there was a fast food store near by. This is two days in a row that I have had some tummy issues. I really hope this is not the case tomorrow. If it is I deeply apologize in advance to the ladies I will be running with in Draper :) Sorry.... The I felt pretty good after that, finished up my run feeling OK. Now I'm off to spend time with my youngest daughter. Bra shopping... she is a 30 E.... yep not a typo, last time we bought some... lets hope it has not changed and gotten bigger. Every teen boys dream, every parents nightmare. Both daughter are so blessed... this from a barely B Mom... sorry TMI. But are genetics fascinating :) Then I will get to color Easter eggs with the grand kids!! So happy Friday bloggers :) 8 miles - 1:15:56 laps: 10:17, 10:00, 9:32, 9:06, 8:58, 9:06, 10:05 (hill), 8:53

| | Well I didn't sleep very well because I stayed at my son's apartment so that I could meet up with some of the FRB women. It was nice to meet you face-to-face. Smooth was delightful to run with and kind enough to stay at my pace. Tarzan had planned a nice 11 mile run out of the Draper parkway... very nice, and Kelli brought sugar cookie and juice. Thanks so much to everyone I had a wonderful time meeting all of you! 12 miles - 1:56:15 laps: 9:42, 9:21, 9:17, 10:03, 9:59, 9:52, 9:41, 9:32, 9:49, 9:46, 9:45, 9:28 Late getting to the blog, I played with the grandson after my run, finally got home, Tried to get a nap in but that was a no go :) Have a great weekend Bloggers!

I had a lovely and restful Easter weekend, in fact I'm still off work today! I ran earlier this morning but I'm finally getting a minute to post on the blog. So today was a very nice run, after getting my husband off to work I started my run. I planned on 7-8 but felt so good I just kept going. The hills in the neighborhood did not seem as bad as when I ran them on Friday. I was able to stay at a bit faster pace, but better yet I didn't have to stop and walk on any of the hills :) that always makes me feel good. So I'm off to get some spring cleaning accomplished, and hopefully some sculpting :) 11 miles - 1:39:57 laps: 9:47, 9:55, 9:47, 9:49, 8:26, 8:18, 8:45, 8:41, 8:35, 9:26, 8:25! Sound of music I hope I did this correct... it made me smile. I think this should happen more often.

I got a call from a running guy, that has been recovering from an injury. He asked if I would run a bit with him, so we met at Peak Performance Running Store, and ran for three miles together. We stood in the rain for at least two minutes for my garnin to find itself, but finally I just said let's go. By his garmin, we averaged about 9:30 for the three miles. Then I ran another 5, but in my haste to get running I started my garmin without resetting it Duh!! so I added 1/2 a mile onto yesterdays run before I looked down and really understood what was going on. I don' t know the overall time and laps. But I'm sure it was much slower then yesterday, my legs were a bit heavy tonight. Laps of the last 4.5 miles: 9:17, 9:39, 9:15, 9:03, 9:14 ** side not, I needed to get new shoes. I had been running in Pearl Isumi, but I can only get about 200 miles on them before they have some fatal flaw that makes it so I can' run in them with out getting major blisters. So as much as my shins were happy with the Pearl Isumi my pocket book was not. I got some Asics, so here's to hoping my shins will love them.

| | I slept good last night but then I woke with a new a exciting pain in my left knee. I think it might be arthritis. All this rainy weather is probably the reason. The weather was miserable today... rain snow wind, you name it, but there was a break in all the weather right when work ended, so it was just a few drizzles. I had dropped my gloves yesterday in the mud and didn't get them washed but luckily I had an extra pair of socks in my bag LOL. I looked like a dork but there was not any other runners on the trail so it didn't matter. My right hip and shin were bugging quite a bit, I'm not ready to say it's the new shoes, I think I just need to ice and stretch better. 5 miles - 46:45 Laps: 9:22, 9:16, 9:35, 9:24, 9:16 I was surprised that my laps were not over 10:00, I think I really just wanted to be done.

| | Meet up with a running friend and ran 5 miles with him, then did another 3 by myself. My shin felt better tonight when I was running, but hurt more when I stopped. I will ice and stretch again tonight and hope that I can get things feeling better. I have a massage appointment tomorrow after work so that should help too. I will probably only do about 5 miles tomorrow. I'm really trying to wrap my head around a long run this weekend. I really need to do about 18-20 miles. 8 miles - 1:13:16 laps - 9:32, 9:21, 9:14, 8:51, 9:02, 9:11, 9:01, 9:05

| | I had a massage tonight, so I knew that I would be pressed for time to get a run in. But the problem was that everything was just hurting too much to do any more. I was planning on 5, but just could not get it done. I will try to get a good nights sleep and be positive in my thoughts that tomorrow will be a good run. The plan is to the 11 mile loop that I did Monday, then meet up with my running friend and do 7 with her, then hopefully 3-4 more after she is done. Fingers crossed that everything will be good. 3.57 miles - 33:06 laps: 9:10, 9:11, 9:17, 9:35

| | Oh ya baby!!! that's the most miles I've ever ran in a week! Booyah! I got up around Sno time (5:00) and ran 13 miles. It was slow and a bit painful for the first two or so, then I felt a bit better. I ran the 11 mile loop that I ran on Monday, then added a bit more circling the neighborhood. Then I changed my clothes... eat a PB&J, had a drink, then drove to meet up with my running friend. She did the last 9 miles with me. This is the longest distance she has run since her injury. Needless to say we were pretty slow by the end, but so happy that she had run all nine. I was just happy to be done. Now off to my son-in-laws birhtday BBQ have a great weekend. | | So I had disturbing dreams last night. I woke-up very tense because in my dream I had to bike Lotoja (Logan to Jackson 200 mile bike race) before I ran the marathon... don't know why but I was very upset that I would have to do it. I remember thinking I have not trained and it was going to be too hard. Do you think I might be a bit worried about the marathon?? I do. So my run tonight felt pretty good. After the turnaround at about 3 1/2 miles I tried some 1 minute fast 1 minutes slower paces. The fast I tried to keep at 7:40 - 8:00, then the slower paces was about 9:00. I did this about 6 times. I should try to be more technical with my runs, but I'm not certain how to program my garmin for this type of run. I'll have to read up on that. 8 miles - 1:12:31 laps: 9:04, 9:13, 9:29, 9:19, 9:01, 8:47, 8:37, 9:00

So my DH is always a snorer, but he has been congested with a cold lately and it is making it worse. Even with my earplugs he woke me at about 4:30 this morning. After a good deal of nudgeing on my side to see if I could get him to stop. I finnaly realized that even if he somehow quite snoring, I would not be able to get back to sleep. So I got up and decided to run. I needed to put new batteries in the headlight, it was not very bright, and I was out of the door by 4:50. It was very dark, just a fingernail sliver of a moon in the dark sky. I warmed up around the neighborhood for about 1.5 miles, stopped back at the house for a potty break. Then ran my five mile loop, circled the nieghborhood a bit more and back home. Not a good run for the fact that my right hip and shin hurt the entire time... really annoing. Not sure what more I need to do to get things feeling better.

| | Warning: Whining Wedensday: Today at work seemed like a week, don't you just hate days when you think it should be close to end of day, and you look at the clock and you still have 3 hours! Then I decided to run trails because it's suposed to start raining tonight and not stop for 7 days! This means that the 30K Saturday will be in the rain. My run was painful from the start. Calves felt like they were going to explode when I was running up hill. Hip and shin hurt running down hill. And who was the sadist that thought up ice baths!! Holy cow that is not fun. But I will probably do it again and need more ice next time. How do I know if all this hurting is muscles or injury? Last but not least my youngest son was hit by a car on his bike! Nothing broke but banged up pretty good. OK that is enough.... silver lining. The rain will be good for the new trees and shrubs I planted last weekend. Trail running always is better then road running. Ice baths will (hopfully) make me feel better. My son is fine, it could have been so much worse. 8.3 miles - 1:35:08

Ran on my lunch break today. My schedule dosen't always accomidate being able to do this, but it's nice when I'm able to. I think I will be able to tomorrow also. The first bit, almost a mile, is on the gravel and train tracks but after that I'm on a path by the river. They have been working on connecting all the paths and there is a new section almost ready to pave! It will be great when it's all connected. You will be able to run from the mouth of the canyon, (This will be park of the Ogden Marathon) to South Ogden.
On the way out the river looked like illusion silk. The silk that has different colored warp and weft. So that as it wrikles and shifts it there are two colors. The river looked like the bronze with lavandar/blue in it. It must have been an effect from the sun and my sun glasses. Because on the way back it just looked like churning chocolate milk. Something that I have been craving lots after my runs LOL. There were a few kiakers on the river, and best of all I ran into my running friend. She lives down by this area but I thought she would have been finished with her run. She ran me back to the railroad tracks. It was great to see her! Better run then yesterday, but my hip is still bugging. I get a massage tonight so I hope this helps. Then off to see my sister, for a sister date. Tonight we are making cards.

So I had no expectation on how this race would go. When I woke up and got ready I really was not feeling too good. I eat my oatmeal and felt a bit better, but as I drove to the start I was eating a banana and my tummy started to churn a bit. The race was not too bad it started to rain pretty good right from the start, it got a bit windy and towards the end I was getting a bit cold. I needed to stop at a port-a-john at about mile 13. Shortly after that I started to try and pick people off, you know the game. So the first was a little girl with a pink scarf that was hanging out the back of her jacket... it looked like a pink tail. Then a big guy... then the guy that kept walking... I can't remember how many I got, the last one was an older guy, his name is Bill, but I was unable to get him. I was happy with the second place in my age division. The first place lady was way ahead of me. I will have to see where I am at on the cumulative results. I'll update when they post them. After the race I eat a couple of orange slices...stretched, then ran until the gamin reached 20 miles :) I got up the nerve to intoduce myself to His Majesty Walter! He was overall winner of the 30K and the cumulative races! Congratulations!
laps; 9:02, 9:10, 9:23, 9:32, 9:26, 9:27, 9:40, 9:28, 9:36, 9:41, 9:14, 9:12, 11:02 (potty break), 9:15, 9:29, 9:36, 9:28, 9:27, 9:02, 9:11, **Update: Third in my age division for the cumulative total of the races. There were only four ladies that finished all the races.

So today did not feel very good at all, my plan was to run 6 but too pick up my pace in the middle to about 8:30 - 9:00 mm. Needless to say that did not happen. Then to top it off I don't know what I was thinking when I packed my gym bag this morning, but I was obnoxiously overdressed for the weather. There was a nice breeze though that made it so I didn't totally die. By the last couple of mile I was feeling a bit better.
6 miles - 56:13
laps: 9:10 (I think my garmin was not right, because this mile hurt the most) 9:44 (surprised it was not over 10:00) 9:28, 9:39, 9:14, 8:58.

I timed it perfect the wind didn't start until the very end of my run, and the rain started on the drive home :) I have to hurry I'm taking my youngest daughter to my oldest daughter's house. | | My run today didn't feel real great, but it was not terrible either. I ran the lower part of the Ogden River Parkway, around the 21st. pond twice, then back. I ran to the underpass at Washington Blvd. because yesterday when I ran the upper part, (The last part of the Marathon) it was flooded under Washington blvd. They have had to divert the marathon before because of this, and it's a shame because there is springy boards to run on under Washington blvd. Anyway they have cleared the water so it should be good. The bright purple flowers were in bloom also, I hope they stay for the marathon, seems to me they were in bloom last year during the marathon.
My second husband is moving out this weekend... :( now I will be back to more chores for me. Does anyone feel sorry for me LOL. Have to say I'm really going to miss having him doing all my cooking and cleaning of the kitchen, it was paradise while it lasted. 7:00 miles - 1:06:47 laps: 9:24, 9:29, 9:36, 9:21, 9:53, 9:28, 9:35,

| | Felt about the same as yesterday, not great, but not terrible. Hip and pelvis, lower back seem to be aching alot more. Ran the upper part of the parkway, out onto the road for a bit to get a bit longer of a run. There were tons of people out on the parkway. Saw all my regulars... first the guy in the wheel chair, I helped him up a hill once so now he always waves or smiles at me as we pass. Then there is the middle age lady that walks with her parents and dog, they always smile and wave at me. New was a bride getting her pictures taken at the flower garden at the MTC park, and some guy wearing a rubber shirt. Don't know if this is a new fashion statement. 9 miles - 1:22:04 laps: 9:25, 9:12, 9:26, 9:21, 9:10, 8:59, 8:56, 8:58, 8:37
