AM   A warm morning, 45* out and tryed out some lighter gear this morning as the temp will be close to what it will be on Friday night and into Sat morning on the Island. Felt good and didn't get to cold or to warm.   easy 5.15 miles around the Greenbelt + some.

AM   OK that was the last run this  week until Fridays 100 miles, I felt great and no aches or pain anywhere and very happy with that. You never know how training is going to go when training for that distance and you just hope for the best, this training block has been tough with the cold temps but was able to stay outside and only did 1 run on the TM all winter long.  I feel I am ready and have done the work to get there and just hope for the best.  Tryed some more new gear and loaded it the way I would during the race and I like it alot and will use it on Friday.

Very Very happy with the race! The race started at noon on Friday and started a pretty good and long climb right away. Got to mile 8 and it finally had a down hill section and was able to open up on a nice 1.75 mile down hill before getting into another climb with switch backs, getting warm now but had a nice breeze to cool things off. Got back to more down hills and a return back to the start and now at mile 19 and felt very good, refill the hydration pack and out on a 25 mile out and back section. Just trying to stay at anice relaxed pace and was hanging out with Lyndsie (Female winner) and Altra sponsored distance runner for most all of this section. some what flat and encountered alot of pissed off buffalo. Got to the aid station at mile 38 and had planned on changing into some warmer clothes but was ahead of my goal time and went on to the next drop bag section and the 50 mile mark before getting into my base there. Got to the half and I felt ok but it had taken me a little longer to get out of this station but was ok as I made sure I had some broth and a cup of coffee before I set out on into the darkness to do it all over again.  The climb went good but the switch backs slowed now and walked portions of it and the down hills are now slower and just settled into the grind of the race. Got back to the next drop bag and got a few things out and onto the next out and back section and was able to run into some fellow runner and to take a count on what place I was in at this time which I think I was in 9th spot. Got lazy on my form and fell hard around mile 65 and ripped a hole in my elbow and again at mile 75 and banged up my ankle.  Pace was slowing some but was very happy with how I was feeling as my hydration and all was going much better then the first 100. I could start to see the sun rise starting to rise and put me into a better mood and I was starting to see the trail much better. Now at mile 90 and was feeling happy and things felt very tired but almost done, but I know the last 5 mile had some very rough trails and was just hopping the legs were going to hold up over the last section of the run and they did great. Finished strong and very happy I was done  21:08:50 - 10th OA and 2 AG
