11 pm forty min cross train at the gym. 30 min hard tempo ride on bike then 10 min of intervals on elliptical.Only three people at the gym tonight, two sullen looking muscular guys lifting weights and one pleasant looking lady working out on the elliptical.

Took the family to the Oregon State fair today. Ate too much junky food hence the need to wait until late to workout. Had to let it digest a bit.

Nice 5 miler on the TM at the gym. Felt great.

Evening run. Same route and time as last week, just an extra mile tacked on the end. Had a barking dog dart out of a driveway right before the gillas' house. I had my pepper spray and was ready to light him up, but when I turned to face him he put his tail down and ran back home. Coward. I don't like those dog encounters, but the extra epinephrine and cortisol my adrenal glands dumped into my blood stream did make the next mile or so a little easier.

This was a very difficult run and I'm not sure why. My breathing felt labored and my legs heavy the entire run. I guess some runs just feel this way. All I can do to fight back is get better quality workouts during the week, plenty of rest and better nutrition. Losing about ten pounds would make a huge difference too.
