Crummy day.  Could NOT sleep last night.  And then I was so worried about not being able to fall asleep that it made falling asleep even more impossible.  Then I had dreams about not being able to fall asleep.  So I'm thinking I probably got like 4hours last night maybe.

When my alarm went off at 4:50 this morning I thought if I'm tired I'll tell Suzana I can't go.  But no surprise I wasn't tired.  Seriously I guess I can't ever take a Sunday nap again. It's ruined my life.

Then I got to the gym and my knees have been hurting on the insides of my legs.  I brushed it off as soreness.  So I warmed up on the TM for 5 minutes and then tried running and it felt like my legs were being stabbed.  I couldn't run so I did the elliptical for 30 min on level 13-15.  I was mad because I really wanted to run today.

Anyway, I think the problem with my knees is that my arches are bad.  So tonight I'm hoping to get either new insoles or maybe new shoes.  I want to run the half marathon April 30 so I really got to get going.

Of the 3 people that read this blog, any input on why my knees are hurting? Do you think it's arches?

It might be the Golden Arches of McDonald's.

You know what they say. Ask a stupid person a question, get a stupid answer. I think that's how that goes.

any time i have knee pain, my first thought is that it's my shoes. either too worn out or just in the wrong pair. so i would start there. other than that, you don't want any advice from me -- i would only lead you astray.

have you ever had a dream about not sleeping while you were not sleeping in a dream and were awake in real-life but were in a dream-like state?

of course, burt commented first. i said nothing about mcdonald's though, so my comment has more credibility.

Secretly I was hoping allie would comment first because she's pretty smart. The only reason she said she might lead you astray is for legal reasons.

allie - must you dog all my places of employment?

Sometimes I see people running w/ these little contraptions under their knees. Not sure what they do, but they are black and I think they have velcro straps. Does that help?

Concur with Allie (not Burt)--probably a shoe issue. If you take your shoes into a running store, they can look at your wear pattern, throw you on a treadmill and offer advice. After about 4 days of using new shoes, your pain should go away if it was, in fact, the shoes. If pain goes away, go buy a 2nd pair that you can rotate...if pain persists, maybe get it checked by a doc or sport physio. Also, might be the treadmill-we change our form quite a bit on those contraptions...

If all else fails, put the McDonald's IN your old shoes
