As I opened the door this morning to head out for a run, I was surprised to see that it had snowed overnight. I thought briefly about just doing the dreadmill, but after walking out to get the paper, I realized that it wasn't that slippery and it wasn't that deep. Snow was still coming down and it seemed to be blowing from the south, but no matter which way I turned it kept hitting me right in the face. After a mile and a half or so, I had to take off my glasses because they were so wet and fogged up. That made it a little hazardous in places as I couldn't detect such things as speed bumps. The footing was generally pretty good, but where they'd been out plowing and salting the roads, it was a little slushy. I only really slipped bad in one spot just behind my house on the trail. I didn't go down, but I came close. I shoveled the driveway off when I got back for my weight workout of the day. |
