2 miles warmup, then 8 @ 8 mph.  For some reason, 8 mph seems faster than 7:30 pace even though they are the same.  I think it's the higher digit.  Strangely, 9 mph doesn't seem faster than 6:45 pace.  I'm not as familiar with these numbers as I should be, what, with my aspirations.  I guess they were more wishful thinking this time around.

Still, it's been a good training cycle.  I'm going to wonder what to do with my hard-earned 50 mpw habit when there's no marathon on the horizon.  Honestly, it's getting time for the pendulum to swing back.

If I was going to write a poem on my blog, it probably wouldn't rhyme.  There might be punctuation issues, meter would be absent, and like as not it would be ironic, in a half-smile, half-frown kind of way.  I wish Bam was still making entries about leprehcauns.  How do you spell that word anyway?

Leprechaun? I had to google it to be sure. Your training is going well and I'm excited to see how Boston treats you!

I do wonder what BAM is up to these days

fifty a week is nothing to sniff at/

your training has been diligent, admirable, and phat/

your marathon in Boston will bear much fruit/

you'll be crossing the finish line with a holler and hoot/

So do you think you'll do a Fall or summer marathon? You have to. Who will go on 20 mile runs with me when I do mine? Who will pace me during the race. Your choices are Utah Valley, TOU and St. George. Let me know which one you choose. I will not be picky.

Kam is a man. (almost works:)

He trains at night, keeping 24 episodes in sight.

He misses Leprechauns.....or rather Bam, don't worry about it anyway KAM!

Well, none of that made any sense and is sure to have errors. I still am a good poet.

i vote TOU.

i miss BAM and his posts about kumquats.

my poem would be all about chrysanthemums.

The inaugural Huntsville Marathon, with 3500 feet of elevation drop and a marvelous looking elevation profile seems like a great candidate for a PR. It's at the end of September, with a 10:00 start. Of course allie will continue faithful to TOU, which shouldn't be confused with a ruffley skirt type thing occasionally worn by ballerinas.

Sometimes I click a bam link, just to remember the good old days. What rhymes with kumquat? Orange, maybe.
