Still only slept 4 hours even with a new sleeping medication.  Not using that again it just made me more alert (ambien CR).  It was a free trial thankfully.  Anyway decided to just get out there as Allie's pics inspired me.  Ran up 1100 north to the Bonneville shoreline trail and ran to Battlecreek Drive (Kiwanis Park), got some water.  Hot out, I think.  It was 330pm.  Ran down battlecreek to the Canal and ran to 1100 north and back to my house.  This was originally going to be an up and back but the trails were calling me.  Ran 8.11 miles with significant uphill terrain at 8:31 pace.  Quite enjoyed this fall run.  Off to shower and to work again tonight.  Luckily I only worked with two post surgical patients and then a little girl with dehydration, contact isolation. So feel fine so far.  I love working on pediatrics.  I live again for another 10 hour sleep moment : DDD.   Oh and chocolate, sparingly of course.

Is pedes a permanent move for you? Does this mean you are on days? Enjoy your sparing chocolate!

If Only...no I have two Master Float shifts per pay period (2 of 6) in which I float to peds, NICU and Mom/Baby at American Fork Hospital or Utah Valley Hospital. My home is AFH Mother/baby (1 mile from my house) where I work 4 level 2 shifts mixed in with some mom/baby and admit nursery shifts. I rarely float because I am usually needed there. But with the oncoming hit with the Swine Flu I am sure to be on PEDs a great deal this winter. Last night I was admit nurse. It was slow until 230am when three baby boys were delivered within 2 hours of each other. The swine flu causing havoc. We have to separate mom and baby if mom comes in with symptoms and positive result. So sad doing this. I was the first to have this happen to and we went into Meconium (baby poop) Happens Phase at our hospital. Baby got put in his own "nursery" room. Gown, glove and mask isolation. : (((( I was intensely busy from 230 until 730am when I finally got all the paper work done!! Needless to say I am exhausted but still only slept three hours. You should sleep soundly tonight. Tomorrow morning post marathon getting out of bed should be fun for you :DDDDD PS the job I applied for was accidentally posted as days, hence the reason I am still on nights. No day shifts available yet. I keep checking.
