Two loops starting at my house picking up Kim by her house aroun 8:05am.  Slow and steady wake up pace at first so average pace after first loop was 9:04 (11.5 miles).  Ran second loop (ran backwards to reduce monotony) alone after refueling at Kim's with a banana and water.  Had one Gu on first loop and one on the second loop.  Second loop after making it to the Canal road (long uphill, steep) I got a burst of energy and decided to pick it up already.  So last 11.35 miles were at average pace of 8:08.  Last mile 7:10.  So I was pretty happy being able to run 22.85 miles.  Big "race" day is in two weeks and I work the same shifts before that run too so got to see if I can get it out of me.  Certainly won't pull off all 8s there as it is a hill/mountain trail run.  Yippee, it is done and I feel good and relishing in the fine foods I can eat all day, mainly wholesome fruits and veggies and some justified cadbury mini eggs.

yeah for the cadbury mini eggs! You are doing Antelope? Ah ha! Dang it girl, that is so stinkin' cool! Tarzan is doing the 50 miler. Your run today was SO cool. I have got to find out how to build up my glycogen stores. I was pooped during today's run (not to be confused with pooping during the run ;). I am FROZEN solid too.

Minor changes to the mileage as I sat and thought about it. Since Kim started her garmin from her house I had to add and subtract the route from the course tool. I was surprised it was 23.3 so I recalculated and realized what the difference was. So my pace was a little slower. But still I am delighted I got almost 23 miles. I should go run around my cul-de-sac to get to 50 miles total for this week, but that would be psycho. Got to show some sanity. Can't wait til mornings warm up, too!!!

Ooops forgot to answer you. Yes I am running antelope island. I am doing the 50K (31 miler). I would love to do Squaw Peak 50!!! Such a beautiful course. No spots open and at the time of sign ups my husbands job was paying him to go to D.C. for that week. Now we aren't going and now no 50 miler. Antelope does too many loop de loops for me to want to do the 50 miler there. Amazing focus for those running the 50!!!

I ran to crest to get .8 to make 40 a few weeks ago. It is an important aspect of the runner to be psycho ;)
