Met Josse at  6am at the mouth of the canyon.  We ran on the Provo River Trail to the lake and beside it for 1/2 mile (all on the trail) to make it an even 10 out and back.  The weather was very nice.  Canyon winds at the start for just 1/4 mile.  So glad.   We both wore shorts and were fine with just our nylon long sleeved shirts and a short one under it, gloves and headbands.  The scenery on the trail was relaxing.  The way out was lovely making it to 10  at 1:25 (8:30) without looking at my watch really for pace.  The way back we picked it up to an average of 8:00.  Came in at exactly 1:20:07 to the gate at the parking lot.  The wind the last 1/2 mile was atrocious,  BRrrrrrrr!!!  It knocked the breath out of us.  However did I survive running up 7 miles last Saturday on a much colder day?  I shiver to think of that living nightmare : D.  Total time 2:45:00 for 20 miles =  8:15 avg pace.  At least now I can eat whatever I want.  But I will probably eat healthy.  It makes me feel and run/recover better.  Thanks Josse!!  PS  I need a nap now.

Holy smoke! What an AWESOME 20 miler. Josse told me she was meeting to run with you for 20 this morning. I was in awe! Look at your mileage this week. GREAT JOB! Please get some sleep! Are you running Mesquite?

From JulieC on Sat, Nov 07, 2009 at 13:48:16 from 67.40.106.173

No I am not training for anything. Just felt like running long and keeping up with my mileage from time to time. I forgot about the party Michelle wrote everyone about a month ago. Sounds like everyone had a great time!! At least I did get a little more sleep last night than usual. If I partied I would have not been so ready for the 20.

PS I just looked back on my miles per week this past year. This was my 4th week with over 50 miles. One in March, One in June, One in August. All my other weeks average more around 40 mile weeks. Not sure where the energy came from.

Looks like every other month during the summer plus one in late spring and now in late Fall that you have over 50miles weeks. It might be cyclic! Or it might just be that your body knows what it can do. You are a great example of not letting your mind limits your body! VERY AWESOME! You ARE born to run!!!

sweet run Julie! Wow, doing a 20 miler just for fun! Glad it felt good!

Incredible 20 miler!!! Have no idea where you get your energy.

So ... did you decide to splurge at all today?

From JulieC on Sun, Nov 08, 2009 at 20:55:01 from 67.40.106.173

I didn't splurge. Went to a kids movie "Shorts" at the dollar theater and ate salty popcorn. I always crave tons of salt after a hard run. I don't even really like movie theater popcorn. I really love genuine Kettle Corn. I hope I have energy this week. Not sore today (Sunday)-- weird.

Does anyone know what happened to Allie? Her blog isn't working.

She's back on.

Attention bloggers: Not sure how to post a blog run more appropriately but here goes. Pass the word along. If you haven't already signed up for a T-Day run why not join us (Kim, Melanie and I and several others hopefully) at a Park just north of AF High School about 3/4 of a mile. It will be a 5 mile balloon course (think string then circle then end on the same string). It will go on the new trail made there that goes up to Lone Peak and around the pond there. Will get accurate mileage this week but should be 5 miles. If you want to run longer come early and check out the route. Melanie and Kim will be warming up for a few and for a few afterwards. Its not an official race but a FUN RUN at your desired pace for the day. If you want to go fast, go for it. I will go off individual watches and time the event with my own watch for "official" end times. No big deal. It is a hilly course so no major PRs expected but a lot of fun. Hopefully noone will get lost. I will mark the course with chalk or ties. Cones if I find some extras. Get ready to burn those pre-meal calories away with some of your bloggin' buddies and some extra special people not from the blog. See you there. Exact address to follow.
