I'M GOING TO BOSTON!!!!!  What a great day.  I was hoping for a 3:30, but I am thrilled with my time.  The weather was horrible.  It was raining and there was a headwind for most of the race.  Angela and I couldn't find Michelle N, Michelle M, or Cheris at the start.  I was so bummed.  I really wanted to start with them.  We lined up near the 3:30 pace group, but it was so dark we lost them right after the start.  I saw the girls on Veyo.  I was so excited to see them.   I took 2 bathroom breaks at just after the 5 mile mark and just before 13.

 My splits were 8:29, 8:16, 7:51, 7:46, 7:55, 8:15, 7:28, 8:55, 8:31, 8:26, 8:38, 8:43, 8:25, 8:05, 7:45, 7:40, 7:57, 8:09, 8:41, 8:07, 7:43, 8:30, 8:20, 8:03, 8:46, 8:36 and 2:10.

My sister Angela was wonderful.  Her only goal was to help me qualify for Boston.  She had only been running 2 sometimes 3 times a week to train.  She was able to stay with me until just after mile 23.  I was so happy to have her with me that whole time.  I ended up finishing about 2 minutes before her.  Michelle caught up to me at mile 25 and she looked great.  She really helped push me that last mile.  I had a 1/2 a gu at mile 5, 1/2 a gu at mile 7, gu at 13, gu at 19, and then I had a Jolly Rancher at mile 22.  I drank gatorade at the stops that I didn't gu.  I didn't have anything to drink the last 4 miles.  I never hit the wall.  The extra miles in training made a huge difference.

Everyone from our running group did great.  I feel so lucky to have such a great group of friends to run with.

Julie--Awesome job! I too feel lucky to have people like you to run with. It was great to see all of you reach your goals. Sounds like there may be a big group going to Boston next year!

WOW! I am so happy after yesterday! Maybe just to be dry! No, I just think everyone managed to have a great day, despite the terrible conditions. I wish we could have started out with you guys, it was frustrating not being able to find everyone, but I'm glad we met up with you at Veyo--that was our bright spot of that bleak mile, totally uphill, into the wind and pouring and rain. I thought you guys looked like superheroes flying up the hill in your trash bags. What a day! Congratulations on your awesome time! Boston!!!

Awesome! Great job on getting a BQ, not an easy way to get one, but who said it's supposed to be easy :)

GREAT JOB!!! I came across your sister just before the finish line, but I had to look back to see which one of you it was---she was so wet I could not tell. But I figured you would have said hi, so it must have been her----still in her trash bag! You both did GREAT!!!
