Short-Term Running Goals:

I've been a very active runner since High School ( I usually run 5-6 days a week) but I have yet to run a Marathon or any other competitive race since then. I want to get back into competitive running and hopefully have similar results like in High School. Although, last January 09 I got shin splints really bad and it took a good 6 months of rest and rehab to finally get back in the groove. I would like to run a sub 8 minute mile on my first Marathon but maybe I should just worry about finishing it first?   

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Personal:

I'm 42 years old and I'm married! I enjoy the outdoors (Hunting, Camping, Backpacking)

How are the shins feeling? Glad to hear you don't have stress fractures. Annie came and got the book. I hope it helps, if even a little. Let me know when you want to meet up for Saturday runs. Long runs are so much easier with company.

The shins are feeling not too bad right now. I bought a sleeve for both of my legs and I think it's helping. Thanks for the book! Ya we need to do some long runs. Hopefully soon but it depends how fast I can get back into shape and not get to tired on my long runs.
