| Lunch 7 xt. I'm definitely having a low-key approach to my race on Saturday. My training has been pretty mediocre, and my health is iffy (injury wise)... so this will be a race where my primary goal is enjoyment. It's supposed to be 25 deg at the start, with a chance of snow! |

| 12 hours of work, no run. Which is fine, since I wasn't planning to run anyways after the race. No soreness (really wasn't that much downhill, compared to this summer), just a bit of left hammy tightness. And my Achilles feels better than expected. Unfortunately, my right foot still hurts- feels like the start of a stress fracture. Probably some cross training and not much running for a week or two. And for the first time in 2+ years, I have absolutely no races on my schedule. Any ideas/recommendations? |

| PM- Met a new trail runner from work, Barry. The lucky guy lives right next to Paris Mtn. So we ran about 9 miles on it, mostly in the dark. Looks like I'll have a new trail running buddy. He's a long time runner, but has only done one road marathon and no trail ultras, but has lots of interest. And he's as fast as me. Now if I can only find a house up by the mountain! |

AM- To all of you snow-bound folks in Idaho, Utah, and Colorado... I enjoyed my 6 miles on the beach today in 70 deg weather, running on Isle of Palms, Mt. Pleasant, SC, just outside Charleston. Beautiful, sunny 75 deg weather yesterday, and 77 deg for today. In case you're wondering if garmin elevation profiles are accurate... here's proof towards the negative. I was on the beach, not 60 ft under water...
