Ran middle distance in college with a PB of 1:52 for the 800 meters, then continued running with varying degrees of seriousness throughout my 20's and 30's. Moved up in distance and even ran three marathons (2:43 PB). Now just trying to stay in shape and find balance in life in my 40's.

Snow day today! Only the 2nd or 3rd in my 11 year education career.
Today I ran mostly on the BK track, which had been semi-plowed. I did 8-10 100m pickups during the run. |

South loop - 49+
Did a progression run this afternoon. The roads were somewhat clear so running was a little easier than it's been the past week. Miles were 7:35, 7:12, 7:02, 6:37, 6:34 and 6:11. Last mile was a cool down. I did not feel fit, that is for sure. It was super to get outside, though, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
After an average of 22 mpw the last 8 weeks, I am ready to get back into some better running here soon. |

Treadmill at Gold's - 42:50
Did a fartlek on the treadmill. 5-4-3-2-2-1 minutes on with the recovery = next workload. Started at 6:15/mile pace and worked down to 5:35/mile pace. Recoveries at about 7:45-50/mile pace. Felt ok - pretty easy workout. |

Mission Bay Path - 40+
In San Diego. Took a walk with Emily and Nica and saw so many runners I just felt like going back and running there. Ran pretty hard for my fitness level. Started out along the bay and came back by the ocean.
