Today was speed work.  Last week I had found a neighborhood with a 1 mile loop that has some good up hill and some downhill.  Plan was to warm up for 2 miles and then 4 loops with a 1 -2 min recovery between each loop and then back home.

1 - 7:56 - not too bad, but legs felt tired from the beginning

2 - 7:36 - better than I expected

3 - 7:33 - About 1/3 the way into the loop I got extremely hot and dizzy, slowed down for a second but then felt fine and finished.  I almost debated doing another rep but new I would be disapointed in not following the plan.

4 - 7:24 - Yeah last loop.  At about the half way point the same thing that happened in loop 3 happened again, this time with a headache, but once I finished the hill, I was fine.

I had one mile recovery back home and I was exhausted.  Sometimes when I do a speedwork out, I know that I have not pushed hard enough because after 2-3 mins of cool down, I can pick it back up again.  Not so today.

Happy Running!
