AM - 22 mile long run (7:15/mile avg). Ran south from Puerto Morelos and found an incredible dirt/sand road that followed the beach. Sooooo humid but luckily had clouds blocking the direct sun for some of the time. Andrea rode along on a 40lb single speed beach cruiser with no brakes. Recovered with a pool cerveza and then a (naked) massage on the beach. When in Rome!

Drove down to Tulum for the second half of the trip. Even more beautiful further south. Rented bikes in the afternoon and went for a nice cruise.

Nice Beach! Running 22 miles in sand would lay me out for days. That is some strong work, Jake. That bike ride sounds rough, too.

The run wasn't all sand, just the really pretty part :-) But it was really packed down and run-able.

Wow. That's living!

How's the hamstring? It's the right one, yes?

From Jake K on Fri, Mar 20, 2015 at 08:16:03 from 159.212.71.77

The right one is the troublesome one. It's good right now, but that's entirely b/c I haven't done a harder run in 2 weeks and haven't even run in 3 days. I have to catch up on the rest of my entries, but I got pretty sick when we got back home on Tuesday night and I'm still too weak to even think about jogging. So the hamstring isn't the biggest concern at the moment :-0

Amiee - in theory, I believe you are right, but when I get a massage in Utah, I don't trust the massagers, so I keep my speedo on.
