Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

8 miles in Moscow, ID. (Launch Red)

Moved our daughter into her dorm on a hot day.  Moscow and UofI are taking COVID precautions really seriously, lots more mask wearing than in Idaho Falls.  Hope it helps and keeps the students/faculty/staff safe and the school open.

No run as we made the drive back to Idaho Falls today.

Daughter found out that another class with be via Zoom.  So, she has 3 classes fully via online lecture, two she attends every other lecture in person and a lab she will do hands-on every other week.

She is a bit stressed trying to comprehend the schedule, access requirements, syllabus, etc. of classes and life for the next semester...school is a lot of change even without the impacts of a pandemic.  The university is trying to provide lots of support.  She has personal met the provost and dean of students, seems like she has a good RA, made a connection with IT department, has a boyfriend and friends from home (though in a different dorm so they cannot visit each others rooms) and met a few hallmates (her hall is all single rooms).  Kami also is friends with the CEO of the local hospital which is a nice contact to have.

She also learned that a person who checked in on her hall tested positive. Trying to figure out what this means for the girls on the hall (isolations, etc.) I called a friend in Moscow while we were there to say hi, and they indicated that one of them tested positive earlier in the weekand are thus in isolation.  The president, dean of students and provost sent out an email pleading with students to participate with guidelines and not have off campus parties otherwise face a suspension.  So far they university is seeing a 1% positive test rate.
