Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I put some context on Rob's blog- my attempt to understand them.

They are brainwashed puppets being led by a narcissistic dictator wannabe that is fueling destruction. He wants a war that will serve no purpose other than his own personal interests. Actually booting him is long overdue.

Stirring the pot.. Your comment is not helpful at all. It only inflames the division in our country. I am a Trump supporter but also willing to see a legal succession of power. Demeaning them by your statement seems to encompass all of us. I don't approve by a long shot what happened at the Capitol. However, most of these people were peacefully demonstrating their concerns about an election process that is full of holes and question.

Here is the bigger spoon...Trump is going to be impeached (with support from he own party) for the SECOND time this go around for inciting violence and sedition. 5 people are dead including a Capitol policeman whom these rioters supposedly support. These people were not peacefully protesting they were trespassing on federal property and destroying property...just like the rioters you hate who vandalized property in Portland (which was equally as horrific). There still has not been proven any issues or holes in the democratic election process, just sore losers who did not like the final outcome. Glad you are willing to support a Consitutionally mandated transition of power, the President is still not and being a baby.

I hope they don't impeach him, just because of what the impacts will be. There's 11 days, let his term run out. Impeaching him will just fire up his base like nothing before it. If Trump followers thought the system marginalized them before and had double standards, this will cement it for them, drive further radicalization, and greatly increase the odds of violence.

It's a bad look, too- Twitter allows China and Iran and others to regularly threaten others, but ban Trump? And leftists riot for months, burning and murdering, cheered by democratic leaders the whole time, vs 1 day for Trump's followers that is subsequently condemned by all republican leaders? And social media further deplatforming political opponents will add fuel to the fire of those that think big tech/dems want to silence and suppress them.

I say just leave it be. Don't egg them on, let it die quietly, don't make Trump into a martyr. Dems will already have all of Congress and the Presidency, impeachment will just antagonize the losers with no realistic benefit.

Rash political decisions in times of high emotion rarely end well. See this insightful article by a very liberal reporter (especially the video from Barbara Lee just after 9/11). https://greenwald.substack.com/p/violence-in-the-capitol-dangers-in-bbe

Or these insights on the long term damage to the constitution from snap impeachment (not even addressing what it would do to Trump's base):
