"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

This year went great for me. I set my mileage goal at 2,500, which was less than what I had run in 2009, because I felt so wiped out in 2009 (my first full year of consistent running). I ended up running only 75 miles less this year than last, but I never felt the overwhelming fatigue that I did in 2009. This tells me that I'm stronger, my mileage base is good, not too many miles, but enough to improve on as evidenced by my PR's this year. Also, 2010's miles were spread out more evenly. I feel confident that I can run 3,000 miles in 2011 without hurting myself, though I expect it to be challenging in terms of time commitment and  keeping a higher mileage week. I'm look forward to enjoying some more over-long training runs in 2011 as I continue the delusion that I'll be able to run a 100 miler someday.

Scott swears by the Airborne. Nice 11 miler! I love that you described it a "faux sun" thats a perfect description.
