"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Hey JD. Are you running a turkey trot on thursday?

From JD on Tue, Nov 20, 2012 at 13:19:41 from 70.96.78.188

no turkey trot. i'm done "racing" until i get faster. maybe a spring marathon, perhaps the slc winter series again.

which trot are you doing?

Racing overkill? I'm feeling it a bit. My 15 yr old signed up for the SDRC 10k. I've run it each year, but never signed up. I'm glad to run with him, so I don't have to try quite so hard.

not really the overkill - just think i'd enjoy racing more if i were actually in it to compete. i still find the marathon a worthwhile endeavor though, so i'll probably focus more on half and full marathons going forward.

that's awesome your 15 yr. old is into running - that must be fun for both of you. good luck, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Howdy Stranger I'm new to the blog you seem like a very experienced runner. Do you mind if I follow along and comment here and there?
