AM - 5 Washington Loop w/ Turtle Creek. Maybe I shouldn't have been so excited to get back going. From the very first step my hips were in... a lot of pain. So sore and tight throughout. My breathing was so horrible that I nearly puked all the wretched food I have inhaled in the past week. It's all okay, though; first one down. Got my whole winter planned up to LA; and hopefully I'll hear back from them soon about getting in. (Stratus red 540.05)

afternoon - 5.3, 2.8 out in Sandberg's with the boys and then a DI Loop. Things still aren't that great. I wanted to get back to doing weights today, but almost decided against it because I don't feel that great. But I figured I was starting very easy since I hadn't lifted in a long time, so I might as well just add to it. Regular routine: squat, bench, lats, leg extensions and curls, core stuff. It actually felt kinda good to do it. (Landreth black 181.6)

PM - 5.5 after a solid region showing (boys champs, jv boys top 12 spots, girls 2nd and going to state and individual champ) we had our team fundraiser run-a-thon. This year we did it overnight. Had a lot of fun. Got 5.5 in sometime before midnight. (Landreth black 187.1)

AM - 3 Sometime around 2 AM or so, Austin and Kimz and I went down to the Mosquito Trail and had a fun little run. It's is neat to have athletes that are so passionate. (Landreth black 190.1
evening - 7 Club run on City Creek Trail. One of the worst days of my life - had to bury my dog today. Decided to go run hoping it would help distract me a little. Had a nice run out on the trail with the Circle and talked and enjoyed life. I'm going to miss my dog. (Stratus bee 327.85)

late morning - 8 Grapevine Springs to Coral Canyon. There is no better place in the world to run that Southern Utah in the fall on the trails. Run was slow and enjoyable. Hips didn't hurt as bad this morning. (Cumulus silver 600.85)

morning - 20.25 West Canyon Trail - Zion. Maybe the greatest run I have ever been on. Started up near Kolob Res. running maybe a mile into the trailhead with all the local boys. The scenery throughout was the most beautiful, breathtaking sights you could ever imagine. A few of the climbs at 7500 feet killed my lungs, but brought even more amazing views of slot canyons and cliffs. After 15 miles or so, the trail connected to the top portion of Angel's Landing and we ran down Wally's Wiggles. Then we hit Zion Canyon floor and Clyde, Logan, and I "jogged" (at sub 6:00 pace) down to the canyon entrance where we met up with Katie and everyone else. My only regret is that my legs are so burned - otherwise I would have enjoyed the run even more. This trail will become a regular a couple times a year. (Cumulus white 337)
