AM - 8 Mall/AC. No 2nd AC this morning as I have a bunch of stuff to get ready for the day and run-a-thon tonight. (Oregon 109.5)
afternoon - 10.75 Bloomington Hills. Went over to the region course and ran a workout on it for practice today. Ran 2xmile, 2x1200 - cruise pace (essentially tempo - right around 5:55-6:00 for the boys) and then I added 2xmile again to help one of our runners out who showed up late (I was just happy he showed up!). So by the cool down I was feeling a bit spent with all that hard running in the grass. (Barefoot '11 157)(NB 101 217.75) |

AM - 10 track. Pulled an all nighter with our run-a-thon. So at about 3:00 am I hit the track. Warmed up for a couple miles, then 2 at 6:30 to get the legs moving. Then went into a little 4 mile tempo session - went 5:40, 5:30, 5:20, 5:10. Cooled down for two more. Felt pretty good. By the end I was moving along pretty well and thought about doing more. But I told myself to calm down and not get to over my head. (Last Ohana 207.25)
Decent week. Just need to get some sleep to catch up for Friday night/Saturday morning.
Goals for next week: Keep the hip holding up (it did great this last week). A few harder runs in the mix. And a busy week with 2 races and homecoming junk that we are involved in. |

| | morning - 19 SGM. Ran from Vernon Worthen up to Winchester and back. Wasn't sure if I should run, since I had been under the weather. But I was feeling decent and figured I would turn around if I needed to. But felt strong up and had a decent, but not crazy, push back down. Didn't time anything as the garmin wasn't charged. (Mana 73.25) Realized I shouldn't have pushed myself into so much this morning. Now I am suffering from it big time. Pretty dang sick now.

| | AM - 12.5 River Trail. Ran over to Steve's and then down through Washington down Dog Pound and Riverside, eventually onto the River Trail and finishing at Bloomington. Tempoed for 10. AM - 18 SGM Course. Got home late from Provo last night, slept for a few hours and then met up with the guys and ran up and back the course. Although everyone was bagging on the idea of going up, it turned out well. Every time I've run this, I've liked it. Good solid up, then just a good solid flow back down until the last two. Dustin B. and Logan left Steven and I like we were standing still, but I still hit 5:15's for the last two; so pleased about that. (Oregon 127.5)
Good recovery week from being sick. Kind of strange that there are only 2 weeks until the race. But it is what it is.
Goals for next week: Something about like this week, and now I don't need to get mad at myself for not hitting as much mileage with the taper coming up. |

| | morning - 12.5 SLC. Ran with the varsity up at Sugarhouse Park on the State course. Warmed up for two and then as they hit their workout, I hit 5.5 at tempo - right around 5:45 pace, not bad for the grass. Then we ran down 13th for a 3 mile cool down to the park the JV was racing at, getting there just in time to watch the girls. Since I had my watch on, I decided to measure how much I run while coaching a race - for just two races (both JV teams), I ran over 1 1/2 miles, most of it pretty quick, with breaks of course. (Ohana racers 582.75) Not a bad week I guess. By today, I felt pretty good. Goals for next week: maybe enjoy a marathon a little.
