Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

5:58 pace for my first long run under 6 minute pace in a while. I ran due east along Como to the Gateway trail, which I was able to run on for about 5 miles round trip now that I live closer to it. It was a fantastic day, about 60 degrees with a coastal-type misty feel.

6:56 pace, Res woods via Como park. Today I went via Como avenue, rather than the fairgrounds. I haven't made my mind up which way to make my permanent route.

Great run on WRR. It rained enough yesterday that today everything smelled really good and it was windy but the air was nice and clean. The leaves on the river are starting to turn a little brighter, so it was fun to run along Winchell trail with the sun shining through. 6:56 pace.

6:48 pace, Como lake loop. Ran in the fairgrounds for the first time in over a month. Also, I wore a long sleeve shirt!
