Short-Term Running Goals: -Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.
-Break stroller records?
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home. |

| | AM: little workout, 20 minutes alternating crisp running with harder running. Did it by .5 miles for mile marker assistance. The first three segments were uphill, the last four were downhill, and the final segment was mostly uptempo with hard at the end. 2:42, 2:32, 2:57, 2:25, 2:50, 2:26, 2:44. Good to get this in.
PM: 4 miles and then met up with people for a walk.

| | AM: 10 miles. Started feeling some of the plantar fascia tenderness just like I did last year when I went from a flat place to a hilly one. Darn it.

| | Long run today since tomorrow is christmas. Been looking forward to letting loose a bit. Went easy on the three miles to start and finish but harder in the middle. Miles for that were: 5:44, 5:43, 5:45, 5:24, 5:27, 5:31, 5:36, 5:24, 5:05, 5:05. Obviously there are some hills in there. In the first three miles you gain 200 feet (opposite for the last three). Then you lose 130 over the next two miles. Had a weird thing happen at the end where I feel like as the ground dropped beneath me my feet were airborn for so long such that even with taking long strides, I literally couldn't go faster than 5:30 pace or so. So I was able to to do that by shortening my stride. Weird sensation.

| | Christmas run. Tied for best ever. My hernia hurt a bit, but it was 65 degrees when I ran and boy did that feel AMAZING.
