Short-Term Running Goals: -Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.
-Break stroller records?
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home. |

| | I don't remember my pace. But boy, that was something. I maxed out my winter clothing and it still felt nauseatingly cold, especially running into the wind and occasional fluries. 5 degrees, feels like -12. Yikes.

| | 7 flat pace around Falcon Heights because I wanted to stop and see my family at the library. The sun set while I was running and it was cold, but not windy like yesterday so much better.

| | In complete darkness, starting after 5 pm, in 14 degree weather- there were plenty of reasons why this was going to be an unenjoyable run. A couple days with sub zero temps changes you though, and it didn't feel that bad. Running in the dark around Como lake was kind of cool, too. Surprisingly only 7:14 pace, though it felt much faster.

| | Today was a victory because my knee wasn't too bad even after having run just last night. Next, there was an advisory for freezing rain and sleet that started overnight, but I woke up to dry ground, and made it through the whole run fine (it started in the afternoon). It even felt quite warm, 21 degrees being the warmest it has been in several days, so I took off my fask mask and didn't have anything on my head for the whole run after the first mile. Quiet day on west river road down to the lower trails at Minnehaha.
Once again, more slow running though. 6:17 pace.
