Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | 7:01 pace, west river north on my first run of the offseason. Got out at 6:50 and it was so dark! Didn't really see the sun until I was about halfway home. Caught leaf #3 of the season.

| | 6:54 pace, east river road. Great color on the trees on another cloudy morning. Need to enjoy fall while I can.

| | 6:58 pace, como classic. I headed out probably around 7, and the sunrise wasn't until 7:38. Given how dark it was, combined with it having rained yesterday and there being leaves on the ground, it probably wasn't a good idea to take the soft surface trail, but I did and it turned out ok. I just have to make it another week and a half before I daylight savings!

| | East river flats, probably just under 7 minute pace. Dark and cold.

| | Just under 7 minute pace, west river road. Left at 6:50, it was so dark! It was uncomfortably dark even by the time I got to the winchell trail section of the run. Daylight savings here we come.

| | 5:56 pace, Gateway trail to Brown's creek. You really couldn't ask for a much nicer run. It was a cloudy day with drizzles on and off and the leaves looked really good. I think by even next week the trees will be much more bare. Splits don't really matter, but I ran: 4:05, 6:11, 6:11, 5:58, 6:00, 6:26, 5:33, 5:37, 3:03, 3:06, 5:51, 5:53, 6:27, 6:04, 6:03, 5:56, 5:51, 3:48. Had the wind at my back and more downhill on the way out.
