I had a terrible headache much of the day, and didn't know if I would get any miles in today. After two hours of driver's ed, I decided I would attempt a workout. My schedule called for 5x Pah Tempe hill repeats (.32m). These would be the first hill repeats of the new year and also turned out to be my first puke session of the new year.

2-21-07
 8-27-07 2-25-08
 2:09 2:14 2:12
 2:10 2:13 2:13
 2:08 2:13 2:17
 2:14 2:08 2:15
  2:09 2:17
  2:06

After a two mile warm-up and stretching I started the first one.

1-2:12 pretty good for the first one. in fact probably faster than I wanted the first one to be.

2-2:13 Interested to see if this would be much slower than the first. Turned out to be about the same time. After this one, is when the sickness really hit. On the recovery had to stop and leave my lunch on the side of the road.

3-2:17 Stomach feeling a little better, but overall I was weak on this repeat. Thought about stopping here, but instead just turned around and started my recovery job back down the hill and by the time I got to the bottom, I was ready to go again.

4-2:15 Better focus, but once again had to stop and puke on the recovery.

5-2:17 Weak, but trying hard just to finish.

Not the best workout, but glad I hung with it and did 5 repeats. Today was more a mental victory, I had a number of things going wrong and plenty of reasons I could have stopped, but I accomplished what I wanted to today. The cool-down was cut short just a bit 1.5 miles.
