way to tough it out, man. i know the feeling well.
i've often referred to the "two mile rule." i initially came up with my own "15-minute rule," whereby you cannot quit a run less than 15 minutes into it, because before that point, you don't know if it's going to be a good run or not. a mr. quenton cassidy named the two mile rule (either in "once a runner" or "again to carthage," i can't remember which), in which the same principle applies, but you can't quit before you've run two miles.
it's amazing how much your body can get into a rhythm in two miles or less, and, if nothing else, it serves as a great self-inflicted mind trick (i.e., "well, i'm going to stop after 2 miles," which after two miles turns into, "well, since i'm already out her...")
