Running Accomplishments:

I started running about ten and a half years ago. I have ran three marathons. SGM in 2005, Ogden in 2006, and SGM 2006. My best time in a marathon is Ut. Valley Marathon 3:59:46. I have ran seven half marathons, some 10k's and 5k"s. My favorite marathon is SGM.I have ran 13 Marathons, will be during my first Ultra in march of 2013, it will be the Antalope Island Buffalo Run, a 50k.

2008 SGM PR 4:02:23 The best is yet to come.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Short term running goal is to increase my four days a week of running to five to six days a week.  Do more speed work this coming year. Bring my times down. I would like to do SGM in 4 hrs or less.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep up with my Brother Clay in a marathon, someday do a sub four hour marathon, and BQ.

Personal:

I have been married for 34Years, and am still madly in love with my wife Wendy. I have four children and six Grand children.

Nice run this morning with Bryan. We just ran out to Harry's Hill and back. Very warm this morning as well, middle thirties which did feel good for a change. Next Saturday is the St. George Half Marathon, not very ready this year just haven't had the time to put in the miles I need to. Oh well just a stepping stone for St. George Marathon in the fall.

I coud'nt stand it anymore, decided to give a short run a try today and see how the hamstring would hold up. I ran out to gu corner and back, very easy pace. The hammy held up ok though the pace was very slow. After my run I did some time on the bow flex, concentrated on core excersies. Finished off with about 150 crunches. I want to work in some core strengthening this year and count this as my cross training.

Left hammy is still a bother, the darn thing just will not let go. I will do my best to just work through this challenge easy. I really do like this 10k, was not sure how I would do this time. Been fighting a hamstring issue for a few months which has left me less than desirable shape. But for the shape I am in, I ended up doing better than hoped. All in all it was good race for me.

My wife Wendy ran this race as well, her second 10k race of her running career. She enjoyed and had a great time as well. Very proud of the way she was able to preform. Great Job Wend.

Also ran this with my son Bryan nod my Brotjer Clay they both did excellent in their age catagories. It was fun to have them both along.

Got up early this morning and headed out the door just before 6am. I wet out up over Harry's hill, then to the round about over tow loafer canyon road. I came out on canal road and it started raining good. I have not done a long run for a while it felt good to get out and get busy, good week of training it has been this week.

Today I moved my wednesday whack hill repeats to today. I have some obligations with a youth grou[ after work tomorrow. I may not get a run in tomorrow, I feel the hill repeats are a very nessacary workout that I did not want to miss. Went out to girls camp all day yesterday, got home at 1am this morning. Then back up at 3am to give my son Bryan a ride to the start of the wasatch back 50 miler. Nice run this morning greatful to have a healthy body to make an attempt do do something as running. Today I think of those who have touched my life in a positive way, so greatful for good friends and family. I do miss my Grandaughter Emma today, she passed from this life over three years ago. Emma taught me so much on how to love others unconditionally, and to enjoy the moment. Emma always had a smile, even at times when it was hard to smile and be happy. Emma I miss your hugs that touched my soul. I think of my Brother Shane who passed away on Thanksgiving day four years ago, another great example of loving others unconditionally, one of the the biggest hearts I know. I do look forward to seeing and feeling Emma and Shames hugs again. For I know families are eternal.
