I want to enjoy the rest of my life and to make the most of it.  I believe that staying physically fit is a big part of that.  I want to continue to run for the rest of my life and enjoy it.

Personal:

I'm from good ol' Hurricane, UT, but I currently live in Glendale, AZ where I am attending medical school at Midwestern University.  I am married with 1 kid at the moment.  I love to run, and despise treadmills, but here they are currently a necessity.

The first couple of miles were really hard today.  I really didn't want to keep going, but I pushed through it and had a really good run.  It felt really good and I feel very energized.  No pain at all in my foot or hip.

So I have been experimenting a little bit with forefoot striking when I run.  I'm  not sure if this is a better way to run or not, but I seem to be having less pain when I do so.

That is good. And yes, the mechanics of your stride can play a big part in injury prevention. Some of it will just come naturally, but some of it is more or less a conscious effort. I'm mostly a midfoot striker myself, moving forward as speed increases. Heel striking can really mess you up, because it doesn't let your foot absorb most of the shock like it is designed to, so your knees and hips get the full force of it.
