Running Accomplishments:

Pretty new. Have done some training for specific Army competitions which have got me running a pretty decent amount, but by no means incredible.

10k-  41:07*

10 mile- (upcoming)

1/2 marathon- (haven't done it yet)

Marathon - Hopefully this year...

Short-Term Running Goals:

Sub 19:00 5k

Run one marathon within the next 12 months

Stay healthy this year. Coming off of a bad shin splint which took about 3-4 months to fully recover.

Build back up to 60+ miles a week

Long-Term Running Goals:

Finish a marathon sub 3:00:00 

Personal:

A CPT in the US Army stationed at Fort Benning, GA. I've three wonderful kids and the best wife I could ask for. Been away from the running scene for a while, and I sure miss it. Trying to make a comeback!

Well, here we are at FOB Shank. Ran today, the gym was quite a bit warmer than back at Airborne, but then I pretty much had a big fan all to myself there. Not a bad run, my average HR was pretty high though. I think that had to do with the heat and maybe being a little dehydrated. It was something like 164BPM.

Colby, I assume your dad is the same Steve Park who was the principal at Riverton for several years and is now at the new Herriman High?

Yes, I spent quite a bit of time in the Army prior to beginning my teaching career at 31. I got my commission through OCS, so I saw things from the enlisted and officer side.

Is your current platoon your first? I assume so seeing that you're still a 2LT. Is this a mechanized infantry brigade? Have you recently gone to Ranger School?
