Easy 7 on the Treadmill this morning. I was still feeling sore from the 5K. Crazy. First time I have been this sore from a 5K. On a nerdy note, I put a temperature sensor in my garage last night with a wired outdoor sensor just outside the garage window to see how cold it really is in the garage in the early morning. It was 33 degrees in the garage and 7 outside the window. By the time the run was over, it had heated up to 35 degrees inside. I started out with a long sleeve shirt and shorts and after a mile, I needed to turn on the console fan to keep cool. By mile 6 I was sweating enough to shed the shirt. 35 degrees and no shirt and still hot. I definitely "run warm". Not warm enough to venture outside in single digits though...

PM: 1 mile to and from the Church for a round of bloody Church-ball.  It was fun but I was pretty rusty.  I played for an hour straight.

Wuss! j/k Just warm up in the garage then you can venture out. I treadmill in the basement, not as cold as the garage but probably about 50, since we keep our main floor 64 at night. I get hot but not too bad.

So are you just generally sore? Hopefully not specifically sore in your trouble area.

Well, if I had to choose between running on a treadmill watching movies, or freezing/slipping on the ice in the dark, I generally choose the treadmill. Pretty easy decision.

My soreness is in my Quads. Not at all in my ITB. It is more on the inside of the quad rather than the outside. I am not worried about the injury too much anymore. It seems to be under control...as long as I don't do anything stupid...like run a 5K after doing nothing in the way of faster miles in 2+ months....No the injured area felt fine today. Thanks for checking.

I am glad to hear the injury is staying at bay and you are successfully building back your milage, that is exciting. I hope this year is as good as last year for you. Happy 2008!

Sometimes I wish I had a treadmill, like today. Oh well I guess I will just venture to the gym.

Don't forget that part of the reason the 35 deg treadmill seems so warm is because of the lack of air movement- no wind, no nothing. I bet if you put your treadmill outside in 35 deg weather it would feel cooler just cause of the wind, not even counting for the wind from your movement.

Oh, I get it. Bumblebee Tuna. Yeah, that is pretty lame.
