Level 2 Shred + easy run.

6:18 am, 58°F, 90% humidity, winds calm.

I did some rearranging of the jigsaw puzzle that is my morning and got up and did the Shred first and then went out for my run. The purpose behind this is to fit in a family prayer after 6:00 when Thing 3 gets up and before 6:20 when Thing 2 leaves for seminary. It's easier to fit in the Shred before 6:00 and than to fit in a run.

I don't know if it's because I did the Shred first or if it's because I didn't sleep well last night, but I felt more sluggish than usual at the start of my run. My pace was typical of what it usually is, but it felt a little tougher at first.

I've got a really busy week this week. Seminary started today, I've got to somehow get my oldest son to the dentist in the middle of the day tomorrow, it's my 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, there's a scout court of honor on Wednesday, I've got to move my oldest son to Greeley for college on Thursday, I've got to go to two back-to-school nights on Thursday and my husband can't help because he has back-to-school night at the school where he teaches, and it's Thing 2's 16th birthday on Saturday. And I've got a ton of stuff to do at work. So I'll probably have to neglect blogs again this week. I hope this frantic pace lets up soon.

AP: 9:18. Splits: 10:03, 9:39, 9:32, 9:00, 8:58, 8:39 (it turned out to be an unintentional progression run)

General aerobic run.

6:03 am, 53° F, 82% humidity, wind 5 SSE.

I was actually just a little bit chilly when I first went out this morning in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. But once I got going, the temperature was great. I slept better last night than the night before and didn't do the Shred this morning, so I had a little more energy for running and ran a little bit faster than yesterday. So I'm calling this a general aerobic run instead of an easy run.

I realized last night that I scheduled my son's dentist appointment at the same time this morning has the doctor's appointment that I scheduled for him two months ago. I've got to cancel the doctor's appointment. The dentist appointment is more crucial at this point.

Incidentally, the total time for my run today was 57:58.59. I thought that was kind of funny.

AP: 8:55. Splits: 9:30, 9:19, 8:53, 8:31, 8:55 (uphill), 8:35, 0.5 @ 8:33.

Easy run.

6:09 am, 66° F, 38% humidity, wind 5 SSE.

I ran the University/County Line loop like I did last Thursday and went through the big sprinklers in front of an apartment complex again. I got good and wet and was actually a little cold afterwards.

I just have to say, parenting is hard.

AP: 9:15. Splits: 9:55, 9:05, 9:04, 8:58, 9:21, 9:04.

In case anyone remembers the hundreds of things I was supposed to do this week, I missed both the elementary school and high school back-to-school nights last night because I stayed in Greeley longer than I had intended and was beat when I got home. I did nothing after I got home and went to bed early.

As a result of not doing some of the things last night that I normally do in the evening (mainly making lunches), I had to do those things this morning before my run. This caused me to skip the Shred and get out the door late, and so I was 5 minutes late meeting Lindsay. Because I was late, I ran the 1.1 miles to her house a little faster than I usually start out. Then even when we were running together, maybe because I had started faster and maybe because I was anxious about several things, we ran faster than we usually do together. It would be interesting to see what our splits were, but I don't have them. I paused my watch when I got to Lindsay's house, and then forgot to start it again. By the time I realized it, it was almost the end of the run, and so I just left it off. When I got home, I started it, hit the lap button, and stopped it, so that I would record the time I finished. I also had my start time, so I was able to figure out how long I was running and I used mapmyrun.com to get the distance. Based on the total time and the distance, we had an average pace of 8:56. I know my first mile was 9:25, and I was running 8:40 pace for the additional .1 mile to her house, so we must have kept up a pretty good clip together, faster than I usually make her run.

In other news, I talked to Michelle last night. She got to the hospital at about 2 pm on Tuesday and had the baby at about 5:30 pm, so her labor was pretty quick even though she was induced. Everything went well. She had a baby boy. He was 7 lbs. exactly and I think she said 19 inches, but maybe it was 19.5 or something. I can't remember. They're home and are doing well. Michelle says she's feel really good and went for a walk yesterday and felt good.
