7.8 easy morning run up to trail and down around golf course

7.6 mile run from house back over to office to get my car

This evening I ran up to the powerline trail and over to the watertank then down the road for a mile. Then I took the T' bone trail over to the road and then I just droped off the hill down into town to our office. I waited until around 7 p.m. and it felt nice out by then.

7.5 easy morning run by golf course

9.1 a mini tempo run this evening

I had planned to go to the track with Steve and do 20x400 and get a nice speed workout in. But Steve had some family stuff come up and couldn't make it so I didn't want to go to the track by myself. However I still wanted to do some speed play of some sort. Did an easy 4 miles up to watertank and just up past where the pavement ends on the turkey farm road. From there back on the road through the industrial park is 5.1 miles back to my house. The workout went something like this.

1. 5:53

2. 5:46

3. 5:34

4. 5:54

5. 5:59

Ended up @ 5:49 min/mile pace. Really not that fast considering the course is downhill much of the way. I had a hard time getting things to turn over. Could have been a combo of the heat and general fatigue that is haunting my body.

I did an early morning run before a long busy day. Planned on getting in anouther run but by the time I was able to run it was 9 p.m. and I needed to get ready for bed to prepare for Thursday. So anyways that sucks! It really messed up my week. Now I'll have to make up for it on Thurs, Fri, Sat.

12.6 mile morning run

7.5 with the club

Did a early longer run today. Just stomping along at about 7:10 pace. I saw Dave running. He says he had to chase me out of Dog Town but little does he know I lived there for 3 years and Dog Town and I have a special relationship.

Evening club run was warm. We ran down to the park from the store. Then Steve and I did some barefoot grass loops around the park. Then headed back to the store. I picked up some more supplies from the St. George running store. The people there have been amazing to work with. I wouldn't have bought THREE Garmins from anyone else.

I did just one run today- a part of my old big loop trail. Nice and easy pace. Feeling good and want to try the Icehouse 20 miler on Satuday.

The Icehouse loop with Steve. What a run. I did this last on March 6th on a pre Boston training run. I ran it solo then in a time of 2:40. Today Steve and I took it a little easy and ran it in 2:59. It is one of a kind. Anyone who thinks thats slow for a 20 mile run should come post a time of their own. We kept it pretty easy because this was Steve's first 20 mile run since last summer. We both had some new Nathan hydration packs on to carry around 2.0 L of water. It runs from 2,758 elev to 5,122 on a rocky trail in the first 10 miles. So you just climb until you can't climb anymore. Then a step rocky one mile down until you hit the road. After we hit the road we did around 6:30 pace for about 4 miles then backed off for a couple and then I pushed the last one in. We saw a desert tortise. That was fun becasue Steve has never seen one before. I felt great and could do anouther 10 tonight, but won't.

Hope everyone had a good Ogden race. Can't wait to read about it.
