DC loop. 27 F and it felt a little colder. No watch today but I'm sure it was super slow. Couldn't get going. Then after about 5 miles my feet started to hurt/ go to sleep. Sometimes this happens when I'm running like a clutz. The last couple miles seemed a little better but the whole run was sub par.

7:06 avg. Never felt smooth. Ran in a new pair of Launches and usually right out of the box they are great but today it didn't feel so good. But all of them can't be good ones.

Inner B-hills loop. Pushed Myler around right at dusk. I kept asking him if he was ok and he kept saying "yeah but I just want to go home". So did I... Run was pretty good for a not so inspired run.

Early morning club run with Dave, Logan and even Stevie boy showed up. At 5:30 a.m and 25 F even 7:20 pace feels like tempo. But we managed. Once we were warmed up and halfway around the loop things felt pretty good. Kept it smooth but didn't push at all. After the guys finished I went back around the inner B-hills loop and a little extension to square off 16 for the run. 7:24 avg. Felt flat by the end.

Bigger workout.

It's been long enough since I've tried any threshold miles so today was the day. Did my B-hills/ DC workout. 1 mile, 2 mile. Started off with a 2.5 mile warm up over to south B-hills. It was cold. 29 F but it felt colder. I wondered if I should even try to go hard. But the warm up helped and so I got going.

5:03- Felt pretty solid and half way through the mile I thought I was flying and was going to hit like 4:45. I'm not sure if I slowed because of that but nonetheless it was a good controlled mile with the form being solid all the way through.

Jogged over to the DC to recover. Stated to have some tummy issues and realized a potty stop was inevitable. It turned into a leafy situation as there are no restrooms or port-a-potties open. Had to change my course up a little from the times I've ran this before. I use to start on the south side of the bridge on the Santa Clara river but with the sharp turn on the new trail I opted to start over as close to I-15 as possible and have a straight shot rather than a 90 degree turn.

So did the 2- mile set up to River road in 10:31 (5:10, 5:21). Not my fastest time but still good for a cold morning in January. My new goal is to run that second mile in 5:10 without relaxing on the first mile. my PR is 5:16 for the second mile. It has just enough little rollers to really work me and slow things down.

Jogged 4.5 or so miles back into B-hills and around before heading home. Glad to have gotten a workout in.

DC loop. I'm shivering and trying to type so it'll be short today. 19 F for the over night low. Just when I thought spring was just around the corner it got chilly again. No watch this morning goal was to just run EZ but I'm guessing it was closer to painfully slow. The combo of cold temps and my wife rolled my hamstrings last night equaled nothing to give on the run today.

Ran from Dave's house. Met up with him, Logan, Steve and Justin. Did a loop down into the fields, past Stone Cliff, over Foremaster and back into Dog Town. Pace wasn't fast but we kept it honest. I stopped for a potty break at mile 10 and forgot to turn the watch back on so I didn't get a avg. Doesn't matter. Just a good run and glad to be done for the week. Dave and Logan extended at the end for another 5 miles or so but I had no desire to run any more. At this point I just want to rest the legs up and have a taper week next week then try to race a good half on Saturday.
