Bigger workout.

It's been long enough since I've tried any threshold miles so today was the day. Did my B-hills/ DC workout. 1 mile, 2 mile. Started off with a 2.5 mile warm up over to south B-hills. It was cold. 29 F but it felt colder. I wondered if I should even try to go hard. But the warm up helped and so I got going.

5:03- Felt pretty solid and half way through the mile I thought I was flying and was going to hit like 4:45. I'm not sure if I slowed because of that but nonetheless it was a good controlled mile with the form being solid all the way through.

Jogged over to the DC to recover. Stated to have some tummy issues and realized a potty stop was inevitable. It turned into a leafy situation as there are no restrooms or port-a-potties open. Had to change my course up a little from the times I've ran this before. I use to start on the south side of the bridge on the Santa Clara river but with the sharp turn on the new trail I opted to start over as close to I-15 as possible and have a straight shot rather than a 90 degree turn.

So did the 2- mile set up to River road in 10:31 (5:10, 5:21). Not my fastest time but still good for a cold morning in January. My new goal is to run that second mile in 5:10 without relaxing on the first mile. my PR is 5:16 for the second mile. It has just enough little rollers to really work me and slow things down.

Jogged 4.5 or so miles back into B-hills and around before heading home. Glad to have gotten a workout in.
