| | It's been a long time. But I decided to jump back into the running world. On November 12 Christie and I ran R2R2R. Here is our combined instagram accounts write ups. His and Her's type thing. To say it was a normal day. Kind of ruins the mystery!
Mr.
It’s been almost seven years since we passed through this place. Back then Christie was a dark horse. Not on my radar at all. But that day back in 2013 sealed us together.
On Friday we finally got to get deep inside the belly of this beast again. If you have never done this. Bucket list!!!!!!
Our second R2R2R was all that and then some.
Just look at this Lululemon model!!!!!!!!❤️🙏🍻🤞🏽😎
Happy Birthday Week Lover!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #r2r2r

This day was every bit extraordinary! 7 years ago we had an incredible experience & I’ve always wanted to do it again. Not being even near to the shape we once were, I knew this time would bring more challenges. The Sun was beautiful lighting the canyon as we made our way to the river. Phantom we had an uncrustable (like last time) & headed towards the first big climb. The hip gods graced the day allowing me to run. I did fall about mile 13.. blistered up my hand and (I think) broke my toe. Onward though! There’s nothing easy about the North Climb.. quick change of socks at the top & we were off. My toe would slam into my shoe on the steep downhill so the next 5 miles were slow. BLESS the lady at phantom who let us buy supplies even though the store was closed!!! After we crossed the river, my toe/feet were killingggg me. I knew it was going to be a slow climb out. Together, Clyde and I cranked it out and tried to take it all in. ‘’We are doing this!!’’ A deer (that I swore were our girls in spirit 🐶) walked with us for about a mile & then like that, we were at the top! • •Doing hard things drives me. Life is hard. Clyde & I have been through nearly 7 years of up and down hard. But, like today, pushing forward along side your best friend brings magical accomplishments.

| | 3.5 morning loop as the sun came up over Ivins.
4.5 miles with Christie after work and Charlie our hoochie.
| | Run around Sand Hollow with Christie
| | Harmons loop and extended up to Red Mt trail to finish.
| | Took Chambrie out and then extended after. Almost 70 F so I was shirtless!!!:)
| | Out and back under the Red Mt. Feeling a little sluggish.
| | Nice morning run in the sun. Ivins is really pretty. :)
| | Myler rode along with us today. :) EZ run with Christie and my big boy. They split a little early because Christie only needed 7 today. I finished back along the Red Mt trail. Beautiful temps lately. 65F ish
| | I couldn't find my grarmin. So I ended up running three laps on the mayors loop from the DC. Didn't have any planned workout in mind. I just put on my smoothest shoes and tried to float it off as smooth, fast and EZ as possible. Pace seemed managable and I could have gone another loop fairly comfortable.
1:42 min's off my phone clock. Somewhere around 6:30 pace avg.
| | Easy run with Christie after work.
| | 9.5 miles with Christie from our house through Ivins and Santa Clara.
9.3 mile up tempo from Sunbrook GC down to the DC and then a lap around the mayors loop. 6:30 min mile avg for this section. Didn't feel as smooth as last week. The cola powergels gummies made me sick and I about barfed. So there was that.
| | EZ run with Christie. We took the dogs out for a few on the first half. Pretty Chill. Family Christmas party after at Nonna's. :)
| | off day
Celebrated Christmas here in Ivins with Christie's parents before they went up to the cabin in Scolfield. Sat in the afternoon sun. It felt great!
| | The great Red Mountian basin loop. Ivin is non stop beautiful!
| | EZ run with Christie after wook as the moon was coming up. It's almost full!
| | Did the trail loop with Christie and once we got to the other side of town. She came back via Center and I flipped around and went home the way we had come. Dropped through Red Mountin spa's trail system to extend a little before coming back through the neighborhood.

am 5.2 miles up to Tuachaun. Took a little longer sinic route.
pm. 5 miles in the evening with Christie
| | We didn't have anything planned and kind of winged it. We paid the price for that with a pretty crappy run. Drove to HurKIN and parked on the GEM trail. Conditions were muddy and the first 3 miles were so frustrating that we abandoned the trails and decided to drop into town on the highway. No shoulder made this dangerous and just not fun. Once in town we ran through some historic old homes and then headed over to LA. Then up the climb back to Virgin. Once we hit the river I ran a head up the climbing road to where we were parked. Worst loop in a long time. Never to be ran again.
| | Off day but good timing because all day on Saturdays run I could feel a sickness coming on. Sunday sick day.
| | Finally felt like trying a run. Legs were sluggish, head was dizzy and breathing was labored. Out and back on the trails.
| | The day just ran away from me. The ironey. Far behind my goals. bummer.
| | Some with CK and some a lone. Nothing fast. Legs were heavy and blah. Focused on good form and running on tierd legs. It's beeen a while.
| |
| | Went out with my Lovebug around 10 am. Sun was out and it felt hot! Short sleeves, no gloves and roasting on Christmas morning. Ivins look and back through the spa.
| | Quickie with Christie before driving up to the cabin.
| | Quickie with Christie after driving back from the cabin.
| | Rainy afternoon run with Christie.
