12.4 mile run this morning. I got a really good nights rest last night (finally) and slept in until almost 8 a.m. So I didn't get out until a little later than normal. It was misty and off and on with rain. At first I thought it would end up being a horrible run because of the wet and mud but it never got that bad. I tried to stay on the paved roads and not so much on the trails to stay out of the mud.

I went up past the fire station and over the new overpass in Washington, then down through Dogtown and a mini loop in GS and back around through Middleton and home.

Just ran it smooth and easy at 7:05 pace for the run.

Good job Clyde,

Are you running ogden?

From superfly on Wed, Dec 19, 2007 at 12:37:29

Bill at this time I'm most likely running Ogden. However I'm still undecided and looking at doing one of these instead.

San Diego on June 1

North Olympic Discovery Marathon June 8

Colorado Marathon May 4

Clyde, head to Ogden!

Hey Clyde, not heading back to Rexburg to defend your title?

From superfly on Wed, Dec 19, 2007 at 12:56:39

Jeff- No! Actually I wouldn't mind doing it again but I'd like to do three marathons in '08 and one of them being STG so I don't want to waste one up there. I'd just like it to be a little more competitive and rewarding.

Mike I really want to do Ogden because time line wise it is perfect but I like to travel a little and do out of state races too. So I either have to dump Ogden or Des News or not travel and do those two before STG in October.

Clyde, I do some of the maps for the Colorado Marathon. I've never run it, but based on my scoping it's a pretty fast course, only one very small uphill (nothing compared to Vejo), and the rest of the course is really mellow downhill. There is a little bit of prize money there, not as much as Ogden, but you would probably be a favorite to win. I thought about doing it a few years ago, but got plantar fasciitis instead. Bummer.

Paul that is a Bummer that you couldn't go do that race. The profile online looks very nice. When I first started looking at doing it I didn't even see that it was a fast downhill. I was just looking for something around the first of May. Now I just wish Southwest had flights to Fort Collins. I'd have to fly to Denver and then drive up most likely. So we'll see what works out.
