How's the training going? I signed up for the Valley of Fire Marathon, it's in about 2 weeks. You said you ran that? I'm just planning on going slow and enjoying myself. I hurt my ankle a little last night, I can still run but it won't make it feel any better. I thought I would go to Boise, this weekend, but I don't think that is the best idea at this point. I might be biking for a while. I think I will stick with 5 or 10Ks after that, until next year. I'm planning to run the Gasparilla Marathon in Tampa, FLA in February, and take the kids to Busch Gardens. The biggest "hill" is the bridge over to Davis Island. I've run the course before and as long as the weather is good it's a beautiful flat course. Then probably Boston after that. You running Boston, this year?

Evan,

You'll love Valley of Fire. It's not an easy one by any means. From what I understand, it's rated one of the toughest in the nation. It's an out and back coarse. Going out it's murder, nothing but huge hills all the way there. Coming back isn't too bad, if you managed to stay conservative the first half. I went out way to fast last year and actually led the race overall until mile 17. I ended up finishing 2nd overall. I've only hit the wall on two marathons, and Valley of Fire was one of them.

Sounds like you've got a pretty busy schedule. Good luck at Valley of Fire and take it easy with that ankle. I won't be doing VOF or Boston. I ran 5 marathons last year and I think my training suffered. I'll be logging more miles this year and running fewer marathons, in hope of a better 2007 St. George marathon time.
