I'm pretty limited to my running routes because of the place I live. 100% of my running is on asphalt, because everything else is sand. I'm talking sand dunes. I run the sand dunes every now and again, but I stick to the road for the most part. The one road that runs in front of my house, is an out and back run for me every day. I run uphill going out and down coming back. It gets a little boring running the same route every day, but I stay motivated by my long term goals. Todays run consisted of a 2.5 mile uphill run, followd by the 2.5 mile slightly down hill back home. Going out was faster then yesterday, but I felt like a slug and had a hard time breathing. Coming back was great as it normally is. I pushed the last half a little and was able to comfortably run at about a 1/2 marathon pace, which is probably max threshold for me about now (5:45). |
