10 total miles today. A pretty good day for speed. Started a little earlier to beat the heat. I ran on my new Saucony Type A shoes. They are a lot lighter and are going to be my racing shoes in the future. I've never had a pair of racing shoes, I've always raced in my trianing shoes, whice are probably too heavy. These Saucony Type A's are light, I felt like I was running bare foot. I've never ran in anything so light. I thought I had better try them out before my first race in them, I was impressed.

Pretty good work out. The first three were pretty easy. The last one I was getting kind of tired and didn't think I was going to be able to do a sub 5:30 mile. I think I was mentally tired, but my body was more then able. I maintained a decent pace and worked to maintain it and was suprised to see that it was my fastest mile. |
